Black Drove Invades Five Points Fest

Black Drove is so far ahead of the curve that I think half of the artists exhibiting at Five Points Fest don't even exist yet.  I am seriously having to do some research on some of these names, but that just means the toy world is a constantly growing entity.  Booth #340 will be packed with some of the craziest bits of plastic you've ever seen and you'll even get to see toys coming to life as artist VideoVomit paints live during the convention.  You can try and pick up tips or pick up a new figure as the paint still dries.  Tickets are still available for the convention and can be purchased by visiting www.fivepointsfest.com.  Meanwhile, take a gander at some of the items they'll have available:

Black Drove at Mandarake's First Ever Indy Sofubi Rally

Black Drove came from seemingly out of nowhere and has routinely held down the best curated table at every convention they've attended.  Now their reputation has grown to the point that the oundaries of the United States are not big enough to contain them.   Passports have been obtained, one of a kind figures packed, and flights booked from their first ever show in Japan.  Happening on May 5th at the legendary Mandarake as part of the first ever Indy Sofubi Rally.  You can check out the list of participating artists below and start getting jealous if you are unable to attend.

Black Drove Leftovers from NYCC Online Now

The Black Drove booth that was part of the Tenacious Toys Collective at New York Comic Con was like a great mixtape made for you by your high school sweetheart.  By far the most diverse offerings to be found at The Block, those of you that missed it now have your chance to get your mitts on what remains of their exclusives by checking out http://blackdrove.bigcartel.com.

The Tenacious Toys Collective for New York Comic Con

It's hard to believe that the day is almost here for me to trek to New York and give myself a financial seizure at Comic Con.  Every year I trick myself by looking at the exclusives beforehand online and feeling comfortable that by obtaining one or two things I will be content enough when its over.  But then I walk onto the show floor and am blindsided by all of the unexpected things I see.  Things that weren't in the plan I formulated in my head as the train enters Manhattan with fellow attendees.  I am here to forewarn you that Tenacious Toys is great at dealing in lethal surprises.

This year at both #780 is no different, though some of the components that make it up may be.  There's a lot of different names involved this year, but the one I'm most excited to see is Black Drove.  They collect the craziest mixture of sofubi and resin releases from all over the globe that will both blow your mind and your credit limits.  Check out the artists that will be represented:

Five Points Fest Booth Visit: Black Drove

If you wanted something different from your typical cutesy vinyl toy, then Black Drove was the booth for you at Five Points Festival.  Their collective was a mix of different artists and their limited edition nightmare fuel that would keep even the toughest of dudes from sleeping.  And they featured a visit from Mutant Vinyl Hardcore, whose lottery grabbed the attention of nearly everyone in attendance and drew a crowd large enough to shut down the entire aisle.

Check out many more pictures from the event at www.facebook.com/TheToyViking and catch the remaining releases (including some that didn't make it in time for the show) at http://blackdrove.bigcartel.com today (May 26th) at 3:33 pm est.

The Best Toy Show of The Year is Called Black Drove and It's Coming August 27th

Well, between the title of this post and the two photos listing the event info and participating artists, there's not a lot left for me to say about Black Drove.  Just look at the names on the flyer below and tell me there's anything else I can do to convince you that this is the place to be on August 27th.  I don't even have anything sarcastic to say, which is weird cause that's kinda my thing.  Just get your funds together and go and buy some amazing work.  The judge will understand if you have to cut your ankle monitor off.
