You Sleigh Me Kickstarter from The Bots

My wife was in the liquor store the other day, and was waited on by an elderly gentleman who rarely ever says anything beyond "hello" and "thank you".  Being that it was the day after Thanksgiving he got extra chatty and wanted to know whether or not she had a good holiday and how she spent it.  She told him that we went to her parents house for dinner and that's when he looked at her a bit puzzled and said "your parents are still alive?"  It was then that she realized that even with her mask on he has never once asked for her ID.  He thought that she was not only old enough to drink, but that it would be impossible for those that created her to still be among the living. Naturally when she tells me the story I die laughing because she is only 42 and looks like she's at most 30. I tried to tell her that he skin is very youthful and Buffalo Bill from Silence of the Lambs would surely want it for his dress making business, but somehow that didn't help.  She's so modest.

If you also have family or friends that are still alive then you might be interested in mixing things up a bit and playing a board game. And what better game would their be to play than one that also combines your love for vinyl Toys.  The Bots have just launched a Kickstarter for their brand new game You Sleigh Me, and you can be involved in making it a reality.  There are a bunch of different reward levels and some that even include their lump of Coal toy (and a first shot at the new Burning Ember colorway).  Check out this link  to be the hit of your next gathering.

Kryptonite GID Grumpy Coal from The Bots x UVD Toys x The Toy Chronicle

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!!   If you're one of my readers I assume you're already way past drunk or about to be assigned a public defender, but like you're criminal record, this post will be here for you after you sober up.

You wouldnt know it by how I dress, but green is my favorite color.  I can't explain it, but it has been since I was a wee little lad and I'm nothing if not loyal.  So in the spirit of the holiday and my ride or die hue, I present to you this Kryptonite Grumpy Coal from The Bots and UVD Toys.  This displeased lump of vinyl is filled with so much negativity that it's even visible in the dark!  That's dedication to one's craft if I've ever seen it.

Measuring in at 2 inches tall and 2 inches wide, this version is limited to 100 pieces and exclusively available from The Toy Chronicle. Get one for yourself by checking out this link.

Long Night Edition Luna from The Bots x UVD Toys

Thank God people weren't toting around cell phones with cameras when I was going through my goth phase.  Plausible deniability is much easier when no photographic evidence exists, and me telling you about it is way less horrifying than seeing it for yourself.  Thankfully I moved past that time in my life well before middle age hit, because looking like Robert Smith from The Cure is not even a good look for Robert Smith.

Luna is channeling her dark side in this exclusive colorway from The Bots and UVD Toys.  Limited to just 75 pieces, $60 will not only get you the toy but also a matching enamel pin.  Procure yourself one at http://uvdtoys.storenvy.com.

Clutter Magazine Exclusives for Five Points Festival

Having a severed head laying around the house is just asking for trouble.  Just ask anyone who has and they're sure to tell you the cons outweigh the pros.  Shockingly I have found an exception to that rule courtesy of Luke Chueh and Clutter Magazine.  Exclusive to this weekend's Five Points Festival,  the Black and Bone edition is limited to 50 pieces and comes with a nice pool of blood display stand all for only $100.  It's a bear, it's a skull, it's a crime scene and it speaks to me.  Not literally like voices in my head or anything, I meant aesthetically.  The pills take care of the voices.

I think I found the culprit behind the whole severed head business.  Everything Splurrt makes looks like it has bad intentions and the Masterworks Cadaver Kid is no exception to that rule.  This behemoth is cast in a milk-white vinyl thats filled with purple glitter, limited to only 12 pieces in the entire world, and will sell for $165 each.  These things will go quick so make sure you have fresh laces in your Air Jordans if you want one.

Things are starting to get a little cuter as we go down the list.  This is Luna from The Bots and Urban Vinyl Daily and she is limited to just 50 pieces in this pink colorway and can be your forever companion for $60.

And don't forget about the amazing Dunnys from Gary Ham and Kidrobot.  The yellow one is only for VIP ticket holders while the other two will be available for everyone for $14.99 each.

All of this will be at booth #234 for your shopping pleasure.

Help Kickstart Luna from The Bots x UVD Toys

Sharon and I decided that we would put a bird feeder outside of the window that the cats like to lounge in to offer them something interesting to look at.  Right away it was a hit, attracting all types of song birds to our house and offering the kitties a slew of critters to get excited about seeing.  We bought the fancy seed that doesn't have the shells on it because as they start to pile up they rot and smell like someone broke open a sewer pipe.  It's kinda gross.  Of course the stuff without the shells is more expensive, which is not a big deal until you see these little birds flinging it all over the place trying to get to the few bits they actually want to eat.  I've been out there several times trying to explain to them our socio-economic status, but apparently birds are quite uninterested in the fact that I have bills to pay.  They're lucky they're cute.

Luna is the type of critter that appreciates the veritable feast that put outside for her.  Cause she shows up with a light show fit for a Pink Floyd concert attached to her antlers.  Hopefully she also shows up at a reasonable hour to take part in that feast, because the last thing I need is to be woken up by flashing lights in the middle of the night.  Makes me nervous.

Luna was created by The Bots and will be the first release under Urban Vinyl Daily's UVD Toys brand.  She's on Kickstarter right now raising the necessary funds to go into production and into the collections of folks like you.  Check out the link here, pledge what you can, and clear off some shelf space to welcome her into your home.

Check Out The First Ever Solo Show from The Bots at Dream In Plastic

I can imagine its hard for adorable things to be taken seriously when they're mad.  Being adorable means that you're adorable no matter what you do, so raising a stink about something becomes a pointless endeavor.  Not that I've ever had this problem, but I try to imagine if Hello Kitty was pissed off at me whether I'd be able to have a discussion with her about it or if I would just think it was cute.  Or if I would be self aware enough to realize having a conversation with a fictional character probably meant I needed to get my meds adjusted.  Who can say.

The Bots are known for making cute little critters that seem to be in a bad mood and you can see a boat load of them when their first ever solo show opens at Dream In Plastic tomorrow.  Speaking of dreams, I had one last night that I was gonna be on the show Sons of Anarchy, but before we started filming we had to go through a boot camp to get ourselves prepared.  I didn't do as well as I would have hoped because I didn't realize their would be so many pull ups involved.  I woke up before I could face the humiliation of being cut.

If you're in the Beacon, New York area go and check out the opening reception of the show from 6-9pm and buy some toys.
