Custom Toy of The Week: Evilos

I know I haven't really been keeping up with my "Custom Toy of the Week" posts, but its because there is just soooooooooooooooo much out there I can't really keep up.  Sure, I could post just quick snippets about everything I see, but that is too impersonal for me and insulting to someone's hard work. So I wait patiently like a hungry cobra, and strike out from the weeds when I see something particularly tasty.

Dinner is served with this custom Android from Evilos.  Just look at this thing.  He took one of those giant new figures and turned him into everyone's favorite droid.  And this doesn't just sport an amazing paint job, as R2 also lights up and makes sound that you control with an included remote.  And it's the first ever Mega Android figure to be customized.  And you could own this thing right now. It is listed on eBay as we speak and as of this post has 9 days left before the auction ends.  Currently the bid is up to $530, but you have a fat tax return coming your way and this is the ultimate, one of a kind, Star Wars collectible.  To place your bid click here.

GeekWok from UME Toys Releases Tonight!

Ahhhh time to get back to work.  I hope you all had a good Christmas and didn't get stuck with lots of socks or pink bunny footie pajamas.  I've thus far managed to get toys every year of my life and I plan on keeping up that level of consistency until I'm dead.  You have to have goals.

Look at this GeekWok from UME Toys.  Now is he really a geek, or is he one of those hipsters that think if they wear big glasses that people will find them interesting?  Ewoks would have been the perfect hipsters because they were already growing their own food and taking Instagram pictures out in the forrest long before it was cool.  This guy looks legit though, and he's probably the one that designed all their fancy tree houses.  Only 20 of these hand made dudes exist and the go on sale today at 9pm GMT through http://umetoys.bigcartel.com/.

Paris Comics Expo Exclusive Darth Vader Pop! Vinyl from Funko

GLOW IN THE DARK HOLOGRAPHIC DARTH VADER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Not that I'm all excited about it or anything, but holy crap I need to get one of these.  This Pop! Vinyl figure from Funko is an exclusive to the Paris Comics Expo.  From what I hear though, us folks in the United States will have a chance to preorder one from Toymatrix in the next few days for $15 plus shipping. Yeah, I'm gonna have to get in on that.

Star Wars Series 4 Pop! Vinyls from Funko

The highlight of these new Star Wars Pop! Vinyl figures from Funko has to be Admiral Ackbar.  I would carry that dude around with me everywhere, warning people about the danger of traps.

I can hide him behind stuff at work and whenever anyone asks me a question I'll pop his head up and yell "It's a Trap!"  This will probably get old real fast for everyone but me.

Or I could just use Lando and one of my wife's dolls and reenact Colt 45 commercials.  How has no one hired me yet in Hollywood?  I'm full of ideas like this.

These will all be available at the end of the month.

Life-Size Stormtrooper Action Figure from Gentle Giant

I know I say this a lot so maybe you don't think I mean it, but FOR THE LOVE OF GOD I WANT THIS!!!!!  Those crazy folks at Gentle Giant used some fancy space lasers to scan an original Star Wars Stormtrooper figure and reproduce it to be as tall as I am.  And it's articulated!!!!  Now, the only draw back is it's going to be much harder for me to play with in the sandbox and get dirt in his joints, but I'll eventually get over that.  To own one of these it will set you back $2,300, but I actually think that's kind of reasonable, especially since it ships for free in the continental US.  Expect my Kickstarter campaign to begin very soon, in which the only reward will be a picture of me with the Stormtrooper.  It will be like those feed the children things, where I'll send you a monthly email letting you know how he's doing.  I'll even let you vote on outfits that he can wear in the newsletter pics.  It's a win win.

Mimobot Exclusives for SDCC

I'm bad at organization. Terrible even. I bought a filing cabinet, got a ton of folders, and still nothing is organized. Most likely because the folders are in a pile in the corner and the filing cabinet's drawers are full of papers I've just thrown in there haphazardly. Well, papers and random stuff I find my cat Icarus trying to eat. I'll be typing away at the computer when I hear a wet, chewing noise, and then I have to tackle him to remove whatever he was trying to injest. My filing system has gone to hell.

If I could only fully embrace the digital world, then I would have a sure fire solution to my predicament with these Mimobots. And like everyone else, they have some exclusive ones available at San Diego Comic Con. Being a big Star Wars fan, the Chewbacca one is my obvious favorite, but they have a bunch of others available too. Check out what they've revealed so far and buy yours at www.mimoco.com or at booth #2913M in The Star Wars Pavillion.

"Magnitude" Admiral Ackbar Mini Bust for SDCC from Gentle Giant

If I were a rich man I would have a huge library in my house.  With rich, dark wood and rolling ladders to reach the multitudes of books.  A few leather chairs for reading, possibly a stately desk from which I could examine my important papers.  And this.  Under a glass dome in the center of the room.  In fact, while they were planning my library I would allow the architects some alone time with it so they could create something worthy of such a majestic piece.

Admiral Ackbar looks ready to take command of Her Majesty's Royal Fleet in this bust from Gentle Giant.  Based on artwork by Steven Daily, this mini bust stands 8 inches tall and comes packaged in a wooden box with a print of the original art that inspired it.  It will be available at San Diego Comic Con, but non convention goers can preorder one now and it will ship to you after the convention is over.  That gives you time to go to Home Depot and spruce the place up a bit before its arrival.

Evel Fett Figure from Retro Outlaw x 3D Retro for SDCC

Mother of God how cool is this?  How come no one has ever mashed up Star Wars and Evel Knievel before in toy form before?  Looking at this picture it just seems like the obvious thing to do.  The only thing that would make this better is if he had that stunt cycle for the '70's that you had to rev up an watch as it crashed into the wall.

See how much fun he's having.  Or she's having.  It was an ambiguous time.

Retro Outlaw and 3D Retro (that's a lot of retro) are making this king of bounty hunting dare devils available at this year's San Diego Comic Con.  You can pick one up for $120 at booth #929.  Then you can go home because nothing will be cooler than this.  Or you could stay, since I'm sure it cost you a lot of money to get there and whatnot.  But buy this guy first so you have something to hug the rest of the time.
