Back To School Cavey from A Little Stranger

Remember when you were little and you were excited to go to school?  Yeah, me neither.  That ended for me the moment there were no longer nap times and toys to play with.  But now that I no longer have to go I get pretty excited about it because I live in an area that's big with tourists and that means they're going home.  No more out of state drivers who can't decipher the admittedly-stupid New Jersey road systems.  The boardwalks are nice and peaceful, the stores less crowded, and kids have something to do besides stand in the street and look at you like you did something wrong when you honk for them to move because you're not trying to damage your nice car or spend time in jail for vehicular homicide.

Cavey is excited to go back to school cause he likes to learn.  And he's got a thing for that school cafeteria pizza.  Fifty of these little guys will be released today (Monday, September 9th) at 8pm London time and each comes with a Cavey cube and an enamel badge.

Win A Custom Cavey While Supporting Leukemia and Lymphoma Research

Every once and awhile my wife and I will go to the pet store, buy a load of cat food to donate at the local animal shelter, and sit and play with the cats for a few hours.  The one we go to is a no-kill facility, so many of the animals live there permanently due to age or disability.  They get some fancy canned food and we get a lap full of cats.  It's a win win if there ever was one.

You don't see to many charitable endeavors involving the world of designer toys, so that makes this extra cool to see.  A Little Stranger has customized her Cavey vinyl figure to help raise money for Leukemia and Lymphoma research.  Raffle tickets are available now at www.heycavey.com and they will also give you a chance to win standard release Caveys as second and third prizes.  Help out a good cause and win some toys in the process.

A Little Stranger Shows You How A Plush Toy Is Made

I've always been fascinated to learn how things are made.  I don't really care what it is either, I just want to see it start from raw materials and then make its way to a finish product.  I love huge machinery that was built for one simple little job.  While this guy doesn't involve any mechanical monstrosities to bring him to life, it is still fascinating to see how he went from a mere drawing to a cuddly, 3 dimensional toy.

A Little Stranger prototyped Bartholomew Punchyface based on the work of Scott Tolleson and Luke Chueh.  I wouldn't have had the faintest idea how to do this, and probably would have just glued a bunch of random stuff together, gotten frustrated, and taken a nap.  Thankfully for you, no one asks me to make plushies.  See the entire process with tons of images at http://www.alittlestranger.com/wordpress/.
