Evenfall Strigoi Totemnaut from 3A

Mankind is a curious creature.  We want to know everything, constantly improve the things we have, and explore every dark corner of our world and beyond.  Anyone who has ever entered an abandoned building to explore the decaying architecture only to run into a transient crack head will tell you: being a pioneer often times comes with a price.  Sometimes that price is trying not to let a filthy drug addict touch you, other times it is far greater.

I don't know what's ailing these astronauts, but it certainly looks contagious.  3A are the masters of toys that tantalize and horrify and these guys are firmly part of the latter.  The red Strigoi Totemnaut is a retailer exclusive, while the yellow will only be available through http://www.bambalandstore.com/.  Each one comes with a booklet written by Chris Ryall and illustrated by Ashley Wood, and will be available for purchase Monday, March 9th.

Hampstead Latex and French Two-Pack from 3A

This could be the best movie ever.  A man on the run from the police for a crime he didn't commit stumbles into a fetish party to escape pursuit, when things go horribly wrong.  Shots are fired, people scramble, and the police think they finally have their man.  Not so fast though as he grabs the person closest to him as a hostage and makes his way through the Paris streets, trying to buy time to clear his name.  The woman in the red rubber cat suit not only becomes his biggest supporter, but the love of his life in...."So I Kidnapped a Girl from a Fetish Party But I Didn't Commit That Other Crime You're Accusing Me Of."

Yeah the title needs a little work, but I think I have the basics down for a box office winner.  I just made all that crap up cause I can't quite read the small type under the picture, but I think I did an ok job.  The figures of 3A are easily to be inspired by and making up your own scenarios is half the fun.  You can grab this Hampstead Latex and French two-pack tomorrow (March 6th) exclusively at http://www.bambalandstore.com/ for $240.

2015 3A Membership Packs

You know what I miss?  Fan clubs.  How you used to be able to write away to your favorite band and they would send you newsletters and other random stuff in the mail.  Now everything is done through the internet, and the excitement of opening an email is not nearly as great as rushing out to the mailbox every day to see if you received a letter.  Plus, I'm more of a tactile person anyway.  I like physical objects to hold in my hand, actual pages to flip through and pour over.  When I was younger most music magazines had addresses in the back for just about every popular artist at the time and I would write my sappy little fan letters and just hope that I would get any response at all.  Some of my favorite bands (or the people that worked for them) sent me guitar picks and post cards and various other things that I still have.  I'll post some stuff on Instagram later if you're interested.

3A's membership pack brings back all of those memories of fan clubs and postal stalking.  Not only do you get four awesome figures from the newer 3AGO line, but you get a t-shirt, a print signed by Ashley Wood, and most importantly that 15% off discount at http://www.bambalandstore.com/ for the entire year.  Membership packs go live January 15th at 9am Hong Kong time for 24 hours only.  $190 will get you one and they will ship out in May, so you don't have to camp out waiting for the delivery man.

Judge Death Gets the 3A Treatment

You know that panicked feeling you get when you're speeding down the road with not a care in the world and all of a sudden you pass a police car hiding in the woods?  And you're looking in your rearview mirror, alternating between curses and prayers and just hoping that you don't see him pull his car onto the road and if he does trying to think quickly about whether there's a side street you can duck down without being seen and therefore avoiding a ticket whose fine could be utilized for something way more important.  Now imagine if it was this guy that pulls you over.

I'm not cracking any donut shop jokes within earshot of Judge Death.  You can just tell he's never let anyone off with a warning.  This insanely detailed 1/12 scale figure is courtesy of the folks at 3A and will be available for preorder January 14th at 9am Hong Kong time for $60.  If you order from http://www.bambalandstore.com/ you also get free shipping world wide.

Civic Defense Bertie Mk2 and Mule Rev3 from 3A

It boggles the mind why we don't have war robots for real yet.  I know that if we did we'd be sliding down that slippery slope towards total human annihilation from our soon to be sentient robot overlords, but how awesome do these guys look?  And if I learned anything from watching Smokey and the Bandit a 1,000 times, it's not what happens at the end, but how cool you look getting there.

3A should be commissioned to design all of the world's military weaponry.  War would be so much more stylish.  Until that day comes, you'll have to buy up everything they make and pretend in the privacy of your own home.  Right now you can preorder these Civic Defense dudes over at http://www.bambalandstore.com/ to add to your collection/ongoing quest for world domination in your living room.

Seen at New York Comic Con: 3A

3A's toys are always beautiful to see in person and luckily for me they partnered with IDW Publishing to have a few of their upcoming releases on display during New York Comic Con.  Check out their take on Doctor Doom.  I'd love to see Marvel go a little crazy and do an entire movie with character designs like this.  Maybe if we put up a Kickstarter and raise $100 million it will happen, but probably not.  We still have that not at all eagerly anticipated Fantastic Four film to look forward to right?  Moving on.

This little dude was t heir exclusive for the convention.  I was well beyond broke by the time I even made it to this part of the show, so unfortunately I left without one.  He looks like he'd be fun to play with.  You could change his poses up, have him wrap those four legs around your cats and watch them head off into battle.  I don't think that's an officially endorsed use of this figure, but I'm not the imagination police, so you do what you want.  Just make sure you record it for the rest of the internet to see.

These were by far my favorite things they had on display and they're some of the most clever figures I've seen in a while.  And could you pick a more perfect place than a convention to show off a line of figures that are all cosplaying as iconic moments in pop culture?  You can't, I already tried.  Isobelle Pasha looked right at home next to a thousand girls dressed as Harley Quinn or some other half-naked comic book character.  My favorite part about these is how the references for their clothes are pretty easy to spot, yet done with a great deal of creativity.  The most interesting this about cosplay to me is when people put their own spin on a classic character and that idea is captured here perfectly. These figures are available for preorder now through your favorite toy retailer.

Cowgirl Bounty Hunter Prudence Pascha from 3A Available Tomorrow

Well hellooooooooooo cowgirl!  Don't let the cowboy hat and daisy dukes fool ya, this girl is as lethal as they come.  And if you've got a price on your head, you can expect to see that massive gun shoved in your face right before she collects the reward.  Hey, it beats getting picked up by that weirdo Dog the Bounty Hunter, with his over worked mullet and hillbilly family in tow.  At least if Prudence gets to you first you have something to look at on the way to the sheriff's office.

3A will be releasing this prairie princess tomorrow at 9am Hong Kong time on http://www.bambalandstore.com/.

3AGO 8 Inch Figure Line from 3A is Available Now

I love the worlds that 3A creates with their incredibly detailed toys, but I've yet to pull the trigger on actually owning some of them myself.  Usually I'll see something I want, but my finances won't be where I need them to be in order to pick one up.  That's why I was pretty excited to learn about their new 8 inch figure line called 3AGO.  They're taking some of their most popular characters, shrinking them down a bit, and pricing them at only $45 each.  They have 10 different figures up for sale right now at http://www.bambalandstore.com/ and they will ship out this December.  Here are just a few of the pieces they are offering in this first wave:

Zomb MD and Nurse from 3A

When you go to the hospital and this is the guy that is assigned to take care of you, you will quickly realize how crappy your insurance is.  When you're picking your plan from your employer, never check the box that says "Civil War Coverage" cause this is what you end up with.  Sure it's more cost effective, but that's because they don't have to worry about paying for silly useless things like clean gloves or anesthesia.  And just get a look at this dude.  No doctor I've ever seen carries around a bone saw on his belt like some sort of wild west surgical outlaw. But his nurses have legs for days, which will probably distract you long enough for him to get the restraints in place and decide where he's gonna make his first cut.

If you weren't already weird about going to the doctor, 3A is gonna try to give you a hefty fear of healthcare with these guys.  For $260 you can get the doctor and his two nurse companions, or for $120 you can just go for the Black Rose Zomb Nurse and you could play the role of doctor yourself.  The sale goes down tomorrow at 9am Hong Kong time at http://www.bambalandstore.com/

3A SDCC Exclusives Online Sale

I haven't once complained about not being able to go to San Diego Comic Con.  I've never been before, so it's not like I had any expectations of attending.  Plus, most of the exclusive stuff makes it's way online one way or another.  The folks at 3A are ensuring that you aren't missing all the fun that comes with waiting in line for hours at a time by releasing their exclusives this Wednesday, July 23rd, at 11pm Hong Kong time.  These are the amazing toys they'll have available, and you can buy them separately or as a bundle package that will save you a few dollars plus get you an exclusive poster (that is, if you're an existing 3A member, cause membership has its perks). They're not guaranteeing how long the sale will go on for or how many of each will be available, so if you want em you better cancel your plans and make your new home http://www.bambalandstore.com/.

SDCC Exclusive Milk Choco and Dark Choco Miyu Square Cosplay from Toy Tokyo x 3A

Alright ladies, I know you're working hard on your costumes for San Diego Comic Con, but if you are stuck on who to dress up as may I suggest you take inspiration from the photo above.  Or really any of the girls from the world of 3A would be fine with me.  No need to thank me,  I'm just here trying to be your costuming muse for the sake of the greater good.

I love that someone has finally made a convention exclusive toy that takes into account the culture of convention going.  And not only that, but 3A have combined two of their popular characters in doing so.  Toy Tokyo has these Milk Choco and Dark Choco Miyu Square Cosplay figures on lockdown and they are limited to 50 pieces each.  So if you want one you better get to booth 5337 early cause these ladies will most likely be pretty popular.

Milk Magazine Exclusive Iron Man from 3A

Seeing the amazing job that 3A has done on their Iron Man figures makes me hopeful that Marvel will let them run wild with every super hero they want.  I know they are working on a Dr. Doom, but I'd love to see a crazy version of two of my favorites, Thor and Loki.  A boy can dream, right?

Their Iron Man figure is even better looking in person.  I got to see them at this year's Toy Fair and no one that buys this will be disappointed.  In fact, it will probably make all your other toys look so lame that you'll sell them all to buy more 3A stuff.

Milk Magazine is the exclusive retailer for this version and he will be going up for preorder tomorrow until June 30th.  Get yours at http://www.milkcargo.com/.

WWR Evol Darwin Rothchild from 3A Available Now!!!

This guy looks as if he's had a bad day.  He also looks as if he's searching for a way to express his feelings about said bad day.  I think if I saw him I would try not to make eye contact and hope that is enough for him not to shoot you in the face.  Darwin Rothchild is done taking your crap.

Why is no one making films about the characters of the 3A universe?  This dude looks like the perfect anti-hero that would make you feel sort of guilty when you root for him.  If I knew anyone that could make it happen I'd be all over it.  You could preorder him today though and make your own stop-motion film.  Head over to http://www.bambalandstore.com/ while they're still available and then take the time to learn the fine art of motion capture to produce your own blockbuster.  Or you could just put him on your shelf and be impressed by your awesome taste.  That works too.

Limited Amount of 3A Mighty Squares to Be Offered at Bambaland Store

This is one of those times that searching Google for a time zone converter comes in really handy.  A limited amount of Mighty Squares from 3A are going on sale May 8th at 9am Hong Kong time.  That translates to 9pm on May 7th (or tonight if you prefer) Eastern time.  Oh, look at that, I already did all the hard work for you.  Unless you don't live in either time zone, in which case you have to do the hard work.  Sorry about that.  Kiss your credit cards for good luck and pray to the toy goods to smile upon you.

WWRP Meat IS Murder Set from 3A Available Now

After about two weeks of waiting, the federal government has finally decided to give me my tax refund.  I should save it, or pay off credit cards that I've been using way too much, but that's a hard thing to do when I stare at toys all day long.  3A has not been helping curb my temptations recently, and now I see this.  For $160 you get a set of 5  1/12 scale figures that would look perfect in one of my already over flowing display cases.  If you're like me and temptation is getting the best of you, then head over to http://www.bambalandstore.com/ and buy yourself a treat.  You don't need an actual occasion, just make something up.  Like "National Not Killing Your Coworkers" day, or "Yay, I Cleaned the Litter Box" week.

WWR Evol Marquis De Plume from 3A

Holy crap.  Like for real, holy crap.  How else do you describe something that looks this amazing?  This dude looks like he stepped off of a Hollywood movie set.  He looks like a post apocalyptic Boba Fett.

Of course this is the work of 3A, because no one else is making toys that come anywhere close to this.  For those of you that are fans and collectors of their work you already know what to expect when it comes to their figures, but for any of you new to this line, you may have just found your latest obsession.  One of my favorite things about what they make is the weathering that they achieve.   The clothes are appropriately worn out and soiled, while the metal elements feature the patina of age and use.

This WWR Evol Marquis De Plume looks like a man with a mission and a history that would make you cringe if you heard him tell it.  Buy one for yourself and stare at it endlessly when they go on sale Friday, February 28th at 9:00am Hong Kong time.  There are a couple of different options to pick from starting at $130.  Hurry and sell of the rest of the crap you own so you can start collecting these guys.

Toy Fair 2014: 3A

I'll be the first to admit:  I don't really know a lot about 3A.  What I do know is that I love to look at their work and am on the fast track to schooling myself about them.  Their booth at this year's Toy Fair was by far the most stunning, as it felt like wandering through a museum exhibit more than cases full of toys that you could actually own.  There stuff is beautiful and a bit haunting.  I was really trying to reign in the focus of my collecting, but seeing these in person makes me want buy everything they make.  Browse these pictures while I go and apply for more credit cards.

I love their take on these classic Marvel characters.  How cool would it be to have a series of comics made with this style?
