New Toys from DC Comics x Kidrobot to Debut Tomorrow

My poor kitty Wednesday is sick.  She's got really long hair so she frequently gets hairballs and I think she may have one stuck somewhere in her digestive track.  We're going to the vet later today so instead of pacing around the house and making myself sick with nerves I decided to share new toys with you.

Back with another sudden release, Kidrobot is unleashing new toys tomorrow based on characters from DC Comics.  There will be a mini series featuring many of your favorites, but the real stars of the show are the Batman and Joker Labbits.  I've been coveting these suckers for well over a year and wouldn't you know it that they come out the day after I have to pay what I'm sure will be a huge vet bill.  I'd do anything for my cats though, so while I may not get them tomorrow, I'm sure I'll get em eventually.  They're both the 7 inch versions and will retail for $59.99, while the mini series of figures will be sold via blind box and will cost $11.99 each.  They will be available starting at 10am MST on www.kidrobot.com.

Carded DC Labbits from Kidrobot Are Here

I first showed you pictures of these that I took at Toy Fair last february.  Since then there hasn't been anything else said about them, other than some websites offering them for preorder.  Then magically they were unleashed upon an unsuspecting world yesterday in what could best be described as a pseudo-surprise release.  Things have been weird with Kidrobot lately, and I know people have been panicked after their huge sales they've been running online and the fact that there hasn't been nearly the level of communication through social media that fans have come to expect over the years.  But I take this as a step in the right direction, even if the only way we found out about them was from stores posting on Instagram that they had them in stock.  At least there's new product out, and it's stuff I've been excited for since I heard about them.  These 6 carded Labbits retail for $10 each and I'm gonna especially need that Batman one.

I'm not one of those internet trolls that complains about Kidrobot for everything that they do.  I love them and a huge portion of my collection in made up of their releases.  Hopefully everything is going well there and they will continue to drain my bank account for many years to come.

I stole this picture from myplasticheart's Instagram account.  I regret nothing.

Holiday Harley Quinn Bombshells Statue from DC Collectibles

Do stores have their Christmas decorations up yet?  I don't really pay attention when I go into places, because I usually know exactly what I want, grab it, and play a fun game called "let's get the hell out of here before we catch what these people have."  That game is really only effective at Wal-Mart, who do have the lowest grocery prices around if you can fight your way through the hoard of mutants.  The trick is to not make eye contact, but you do miss a lot as a result.  Hence the fact that there may be Christmas trees littering the aisles and I wouldn't even have seen them.  I'm only oblivious to things when trying not to become the love prisoner of a gaggle of toothless hillbillies.

Now this is a holiday decoration I can get behind!  Harley Quinn's Bombshell statue got a festive remake just in time for you to start doing your house up in the spirit of the season.  Or if you don't celebrate Christmas for whatever reason you can still buy one and be marveled at how cute a fictional sociopath can be.  These will be available later in the year from DC Collectibles.

Toy Fair 2014: Kidrobot

Where to even begin with all the stuff Kidrobot has coming out this year?  Let's start with my favorite things that I saw, and that's plenty of Labbits.  Frank Kozik's iconic character is gonna multiply like crazy in a few different sizes.  There are the new 7 inch Deadpool and Ghost Rider figures that you can expect to see in March to coincide with series 2 of their Marvel blind box toys.  There will also be a series of blister packed figures that are variants from the first series, such as Wolverine as Weapon X.

But this was by far the best news I heard at the entire show.  Kidrobot secured the licensing for DC Comics products and they are going nuts with them.  I'm a huge Batman fan so I almost had to change my pants when I saw the packaging for the new Joker 7 inch Labbit.  And they're making blister packed ones and a blind boxed series.  I could actually feel my wallet getting thinner the longer I looked at all this stuff.  None of the actual products themselves were on display, so I'm guessing it will be later in the year before we're able to purchase these.

And I'm sure by now you've seen the new line of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles figures they've produced.  Most of these were on hand and actually getting to play with them really made me want them all.  It was a total nostalgia trip with each one I picked up and I have a feeling this collection is gonna blow a lot of minds.  Again, they will have blind boxed and blister carded figures, as well as some larger ones featuring Bebop and Rocksteady.  Look for these to drop in May.

Each license also has an assortment of keychains and diy figures and TMNT will also have some shirts available.  I was literally geeking out so hard over the DC Labbits that I feel that rush of euphoria coming over me as I type this.  I may need to go lay down.

I took a lot more pictures of their booth and they can be found at www.facebook.com/TheToyViking

Ame-Comi Holiday Harley Quinn and Posion Ivy Two Pack from DC Collectibles

Sharon and I have a cat named Icarus that is fond of eating just about anything he can get his little black paws on.  He's eaten shoe laces, a shirt sleeve (which earned him a trip to the emergency vet), cat toys, people toys, blankets, paper, plastic bags, and countless other objects that were rendered unidentifiable by the time they passed through his digestive system and I dug them out of the litter box.  On the bright side, I am finally able to use my very expensive degree in forensics as I try and solve the mystery of "What Icarus Ate."  Luckily for us, we have  finished basement, which allows us to decorate for Christmas while keep it locked safely out of his reach.  Unlucky for us is the fact that I don't have to see that stuff everyday so March can easily come before I decide it's time to take down the tree.

That's why these toys from DC Collectibles are genius.  You can leave them up year round and people won't think you're lazy, they'll just think you're showing off your collection.  And Harley Quinn is my favorite chica from the Batman universe, and Poison Ivy's pretty cool too.  You can preorder this two pack right now and they will ship just in time for Christmas.  Just click on that Entertainment Earth link to the right with the South Park dudes and order away.

New DC Comics Pop! Vinyl Figures from Funko

Funko has got to be tired of my shenanigans.  Every time they ask who they should make into Pop! Vinyl figures next my answer is always Harley Quinn.  Well, now I'm gonna have to think of someone else to harass them about because they're finally taking my advice.  This August you can add Ms. Quinn to your collection, along with Batman Beyond (which I'm also going to buy), Nightwing, and Darkseid.  Now if they would only release Sanford and Son figures.

Deathstroke New 52 ArtFX Statue from Kotobukiya

Yeah, this Deathstroke statue may be based off of his updated design from the New 52 series of books from DC Comics, but all anyone is thinking about right now is that he will be prominently featured in the Batman: Arkham Origins video game.  It's a prequel, which everyone knows how I feel about those, but if it even closely resembles the last two games then I will be extremely happy to lose countless hours of my life to it.

Kotobukiya created this ArtFX statue  and he stands 12 inches tall and features a removable mask.  He'll be released in November for $119.99, which is a pretty big chunk of change until you see one of these in person.  The amount of detail, let alone the size of it, will blow you away.

Harley Quinn Bombshell Statue from DC Comics

While my birthday isn't until December, I am not above accepting early gifts.  Of if you have any housework you need doing, I'd be happy to come and help supervise in exchange for this.  I'm very good at delegating, less so at actual cleaning.

I am completely smitten with this pin-up inspired Harley Quinn statue from DC Collectibles.  This is by far my favorite incarnation of the Joker's psychotic companion and I might have to actually cave and buy this one (if the whole begging for gifts thing doesn't work out that is).  Would it be wrong to put a donation button up on my blog so you could sponsor me and my toy buying addiction:

For the price of a cup of coffee a day, you could help an obsessive collector realize his dream of owning every toy he could ever want.  For your donation you will receive a monthly newsletter and a picture of your sponsored collector, hugging his most prized possessions.  And unlike Sally Struthers and those other crooks who only actually give those kids 10% of your donation while spending the rest on buckets of chicken, you can sleep soundly knowing that every penny has gone into buying objects to make Chris happy.

I wonder if I can get Sarah Mclaclan to do a commercial for me and depress the crap out of you.

While I'm working on my sad face and trying to find a filthy cage I can fit into, you can go and preorder this statue right now so it can be delivered to you when it releases in November.  I eagerly await your sponsorships.
