Madballs Blind Boxed Key Chains from Kidrobot

We all have those embarrassing key chains that we discretely remove before we drop our car off to be serviced.  Whether it's a sports team that is the arch rival of the hometown favorite, or one that you got during Senior Week '94, you don't want the bill to suddenly skyrocket because of your questionable life choices.  Instead, let people know that you have a foot firmly planted on the foundations of nostalgia while looking forward into the future with hopeful eyes.  Or forget whatever I was trying to say there and just get these Madballs key chains because they're cool.   Produced by Kidrobot, this blind boxed series is sure to delight your real friends and gross out those that just don't get it.  It's a great way to filter the people in your life, kinda like when you could push that button on Facebook to find out which of your friends liked Nickelback and then shun them accordingly.  The dark secrets people hold are seemingly never ending.

These are available now at www.kidrobot.com and wherever designer toys are sold.

Twenty Inch Plush Dunny from Kidrobot

How are there any of these left? I figured they'd be long sold out before I got to post about em, but it seems like some of you are procrastinating.  We're talking about a 20 inch Dunny, made out of the softest plush you've ever known, and it's just $75.  The only delay that should be involved is determining who you're going to stiff this Christmas so you can get this for yourself.   Don't look at me like that, you know there's someone who you've wanted to erase from your list and now I'm saying it's ok if you wanna go ahead and do it.  Treat yourself because you deserve it and at the same time let that special person know that they screwed up in 2016 and they better try harder next year if they want to be rewarded.  This is an exclusive to www.kidrobot.com.

It's a Very Munny Christmas at the Mothership Art Gallery

If anyone was to ever ask my advice, which surprisingly no one ever has, the number one thing I would instill in them is at a young age pick a career that you will love and will give you freedom.  That second part is important, cause you can trick yourself into loving what you do to a certain extent through tried and true brainwashing techniques, but freedom is more than a state of mind.  Freedom doesn't leave you beholden to a company that sees you as an easily replaceable part in their larger machine.  Freedom doesn't leave you feeling trapped and hopeless.  No, freedom allows you to write your own ticket and tons of other cliche things that are escaping me right now.  Freedom also allows you to not miss cool events because no one else will work for you even after you explain to them that your happiness is in direct relation to how miserable you can make them.  It's simple math folks.

The Mothership Art Gallery is a relatively new store in Philadelphia that I still haven't made it out to see yet, and sadly I will not be able to break that streak this Friday when they host A Very Munny Christmas show.  Literally a butt ton of artists are participating with custom Munny ornaments from Kidrobot and a blind box resin series to boot.  All the details you need are in the picture so you can go and hang out and get some affordable custom figures/tree decorations.  One day I'll make it there.  One day.

Five Points Festival Tickets Are Now On Sale

I was pretty excited when I heard about Five Points Fest.  It's like comic con, but it feels more curated and adult in that it's focusing on designer toys, comics, street art, and food.  And the key word there is "curated" because they're promising that there won't be table after table of selling the crap you can buy at Wal-Mart.  Kidrobot, Super7, Tenacious Toys, Lulubell Toys, and more have already signed on and it's also going to be the new home of The Designer Toy Awards.  Sounds good, right?  The event doesn't take place until May, but you can buy tickets for it right now.  VIP tickets even include an exclusive Dunny from Kidrobot and Gary Ham.  Don't be left out, get your tickets now at http://fivepointsfest.com.

Rise of Rudolph 3 Inch Dunny from Frank Kozik x Kidrobot

I wrote an entire children's story about this new Dunny from Frank Kozik and Kidrobotwww.kidrobot.com for their website at blog.kidrobot.com so I was just going to tell you to go read that, which you should do anyway.  Seriously, your children will want you to read it to them before they go to bed each night because they deserve to hear the real truth about the North Pole industrial machine.  But then I just kept typing and now this has become more than just a post about a post; it has become it's own, standalone post that merely references a post, so in a sense it's like three posts yet only two.  No, seriously this all makes sense because I thought about it a lot.  And it's Guy Fawkes day, where British folks celebrate the dude who tried to blow up Parliament.  Did his moment of rebellion inspire more than plastic masks and a graphic novel and also light the fuse in everyone's favorite reindeer to stop taking Santa's crap?  Do you see how easy it is to connect all of these events and drive yourself mad with conspiracy theories?  Why are my cats starring at me like they're recording all of this?

Celebrate Christmas the way it was intended by picking up this 3 inch Dunny now from Kidrobot.com and wherever designer toys are sold.

Blown Away DTA Rainbow Dunnys from Josh Mayhem

I didn't win a trophy last weekend and neither did Josh Mayhem but we're not shook about it.  We're just two bros with no trophies and no worries cause guess what: trophies do nothing but add work to your life.  It's an extra thing to pack if you ever move, and your home owners insurance will probably go up in case someone steals it, and your family is gonna try and borrow money from you cause trophies make people think you're cashed up.  And you know what, if you have a trophy then you can't join our No Trophy Bro gang or be invited to the ice cream social/bowling excursion.  You're gonna really be jealous when you see the baller shirts we got to commemorate the day.

It was cool to be a finalist though and to celebrate Josh has created a limited run of 6 Blown Away 3 inch Dunnys that pay homage to his nominated design.  These will be priced at $125 each when they go on sale today (Wednesday, October 12) at 10am pacific time from www.JoshMayhem.com.

First Look: Kidrobot's Upcoming Madballs Collection

Madballs are back, suckas!  Well, almost, cause they don't come out until the end of the year, but anyone who was at New York Comic Con got to see Kidrobot's upcoming release of this classic series.  Utilizing the original designs from toy wizard James Groman (who I was told designed the Kidrobot mascot version you see above) these are faithful to the originals while offering up some different incarnations for modern collectors.

Of course the well remembered foam versions will be available so you can throw them at each other without significant risk of injury to people and property, or so you can easily replace the one you used to have that was ingested by your childhood dog.

The mascot and Horn Head will be available as larger sized vinyl figures, complete with stands so they're easy to display without you having to rearrange your current setup.  The other cool thing about them is they sit kind of high so you'll have plenty of room to surround them with:

The Madball mini series figures!  There's a whole bunch of these to collect and they will be sold blind boxed style.  All of them looked amazing and brought back memories of seeing them in Toys R Us and desperately wanting every one of them because of how gross and weird they were.  Not much has changed since then I suppose.

See more pictures of these and other stuff from Comic Con by visiting www.facebook.com/TheToyViking.

A Plethora of New Dunny Releases from Kidrobot

This week is like Christmas for Dunny fans, as Kidrobot has new releases in just about every size and style.  They've got big ones and little ones and cute ones and spooky ones and just about everything in between.  You could knock out everyone on your Christmas list in the first week of October and really slack off the rest of the year.  It's great for people like me who have dreams about waking up on Christmas morning and not having done any shopping what so ever and trying to figure out how you're going to escape from your family and where you can escape to that would sell things that you could pass off as presents.  Not that I wake up drenched in sweat or anything after one of those and freaked out until I'm relatively sure it didn't happen in real life.

The first release will go down on Tuesday, October 4th with this adorable cosplayer from twelvedot.  He'd look right at home dodging some 8bit traffic on the New Jersey Turnpike.  This is the 3rd release as part of the Emerging Artist five inch series and can be yours for only $34.99.

Next up is a whole dang gone series from one Mr. Scott Tolleson.  They're called The Odd Ones and they're a bunch of familiar characters reimagined in 3 inch Dunny fashion.  Sold blind boxed for $11.99 each you know you can't just get one, cause that's like eating just one Kit Kat from the bar, which would be dumb.  Don't be dumb.

And last but certainly not least is the 8 inch Lord Strange Dunny from Brandt Peters.  Dude is wearing a skull mask, which you know has got to be concealing something crazy.  I mean, when wearing a skull is the most reasonable way to go out in public you know life has taken an interesting turn.  Both this bro and The Odd Ones series will be available starting Friday, October 7th.

Death Dealer Labbit from Frank Frazetta x Frank Kozik x Kidrobot

This is the most metal designer toy to ever exist.  Not like basic girls giving the metal horns because pumpkin spice is back in season; I'm talking men in an ancient world battling the onslaught of demons as they spill forth from a great chasm in the Earth.  I'm talking about reading Lord of the Rings and wishing that it was real life and how much better it would be to raise an army against evil rather than stocking another damn shelf at the Wal Mart only to have people not control their little heathens as they tear the place apart.  Yeah, you know what I'm talking about.  You've already got the power chord heavy soundtrack playing in your mind and the thunder in your heart and you're ready to set a fire, roast a mythological creature, and feast at a table made from the bones of your enemies.  I just got myself way too hyped.  I always do that, then I have to go about my day pretending I'm not thinking about cleaving punks in half with a broad sword.  My therapist is gonna have fun with this one.

Worship at the feet of Frank Kozik's interpretation of Frank Frazetta's legendary Death Dealer.  He is mounted on his mighty Labbit steed and is ready to send any and everyone on a nasty trip to the afterlife.  Open your home to the darkness when this beauty is released on Friday, September 30th from Kidrobot.  We are not worthy.

Produced by Bigshot Toyworks.

Hooverville Labbits from Frank Kozik x Kidrobot

You need proof that times are still tough?  I made a joke in a post once about selling a kidney and I got legitimate solicitations from a dude in Africa willing to act as the surgeon/middle man.  He sent me a link to his clinic's website which had a surprising number of goats wandering around outside of what was termed "the operating room."  Now call me a germaphobe if you will, but one goat inside a hospital is really one too many if you think about it.  And I love goats and would be excited to see one just about anywhere else that didn't involve putting a gaping wound in my body.  Plus airplanes are uncomfortable enough as it is without trying to recover from major surgery on one, unless they started stocking those little drink carts with morphine when I wasn't looking, but I doubt it.  They won't even give you the full can of soda, like that extra bit is gonna bankrupt them.

Being broke doesn't mean you have to be depressed all the time.  Just check out this Hooverville Labbit from Frank Kozik and Kidrobot.  Dude may be traveling down a rough path but he's just happy to be alive and doing his best to keep a positive outlook on his future.  He's available right now in a vintage colorway and in blazing Technicolor orange that can be found exclusively on www.kidrobot.com.

Frank Kozik x Frank Frazetta "Labbit The Barbarian" Print from Kidrobot

You know who doesn't decorate their walls?  Weirdos.  I bet Ted Bundy never put so much as a Jimi Hendrix poster on his wall and look where that got him.  Luckily for you I am here to help you avoid traveling down that same dark road by telling you about this killer (no pun intended) poster from Frank Kozik.  This is of course inspired by his epic "Labbit the Barbarian" collaboration with the late great Frank Frazetta, which is the most manly piece of vinyl this side of a Manowar record.

Old Spice has taken it too far.

Increase your property value when this print goes on sale later today through www.kidrobot.com.

Kidrobot Announces NYCC Exclusives and Preorder Info

Are you going to New York Comic Con?  I'm going, and my wife is going, and I hope like the last two years we ride the train into New York sitting next to the Honkey Tonk Man and the one dude from The Bushwackers.  Seriously, we pulled into Penn Station and both of them were standing behind us two years in a row.  Being an old school wrestling fan I was pretty stoked but resisted acting like a complete weirdo, except for the fact that both times I pointed and very loudly proclaimed "it's the Honky Tonk Man" in a southern accent that came out of nowhere.  I regret nothing.

Kidrobot is also going to New York Comic Con and will have a booth there filled with exclusives.  If you're attending as well you can preorder all three of these figures so you can pick em up at the con  without having to worry that they may sell out.  I'm gonna preorder that little Scott Tolleson Cthulhu Dunny jawn for sure, and most likely the Brandt Peter's one too cause I know I'll be kicking myself if I don't.  That thing is nuts looking.

You can read about all the rules and regulations at blog.kidrobot.com so that you ensure you don't miss out on these. And visit them during the con at booth # 502.

Dairobo-Z 5 Inch Dunny from Dolly Oblong X Kidrobot

So you're some hot shot giant lizard just chilling off the coast as you await the day that you rise and destroy everything in your path.  What you don't know is that we're paranoid as hell about terrors from the deep so we've ensured that the moment you breach the surface your bits and pieces will be feeding the fishes for years to come.  Meet the savior of humanity, Dairobo-Z from Kidrobot and Dolly Oblong.  This is the latest 5 inch Dunny in the Emerging Artist Series and it's rocket powered fist is ready to stop the threat of any giant lizards, squid thingys, or little dictator people from certain countries whose rockets barely make it past their own beaches despite their claims of actually being able to hit the United States.  We will rearrange your grill, son!

There's two different versions of this jet-packed hero:  the blue one is the regular release, while the purple glow in the dark one is an exclusive to www.kidrobot.com and limited in number.  You know you need them both so you can form a tag team the likes of which have not been seen since the Legion of Doom.  Get em on Friday, Aug 5th.

Andy Warhol Dunny Series from Kidrobot

We all have dreams, some of which are way more amazing than others.  Some of us may want to score the winning touchdown in the Super Bowl, or write a best selling novel.  Others may want to sell out Madison Square Garden, or find a dead body in the woods ( a stranger of course, who obviously did bad stuff in life).  But I have a different sort of dream.  I'd like to walk into one of those fancy New York City galleries, grab an Andy Warhol off the wall, and pay straight cash for it.  Then I would like to come home and hang it up with Command strips right above my bed.  That's what a baller would do.

In lieu of probably never being able to afford a Warhol original, I'll take this entire Dunny series instead.  Kidrobot has taken some of his most iconic designs and plastered them across everyone's favorite platform toy.  These blind boxes go on sale Friday, July 8th wherever it is you prefer to buy your designer toys.  I'm gonna need em all, btw.

Josh Mayhem's Latest Blown Away Dunnys from Kidrobot

Oh lawd, this is Fouth of July weekend and as an America it is my cultural duty to nearly blow my fingers off with explosives and eat piles of grilled meat products.  See this is the time where we celebrate giving the middle finger to mother England and letting her know that she couldn't tell us what to do anymore cause we were grown and if we want to eat cookies for dinner that's what's gonna happen.  Don't make me flex so hard my sleeves explode.

Josh Mayhem is smacking you in the face with freedom with his latest Blown Away Dunnys.  They range in sizes from 3 inches to 20 inches and will be on sale exclusively through www.kidrobot.com on Friday, July 1st at 10 am mountain time.  These are only available to be shipped to American customers, so now might be the time to hit up your fifth grade pen pal and say what's up.

"Labbit the Barbarian" From Frank Frazetta x Frank Kozik x Kidrobot

Good Lord have mercy, did you see that Game of Thrones finale last night?  That is easily one of the best episodes of any show I have ever seen.  Don't worry, I won't spoil any of it for you, but if you recorded it you may want to try and leave work early or cancel any other plans you have to watch it.  HBO aired the season finale of Silicon Valley right after it and Sharon and I missed most of it because we were talking about Game of Thrones.  All tv stations should have gone black for an hour afterwards out of respect for the conversations that would take place.  Speaking of which, the one person I work with who has good taste enough to watch the show is off today, so I literally have no one to talk to about it.  Whatever my next job happens to be I'll be sure I ask different questions in the interview process to avoid such a situation again.  "Oh, everyone here only talks about their favorite Seinfeld episodes over and over?  Yeah, I just forgot how much I enjoy unemployment."

Watching Game of Thrones always makes me want to sword fight afterwards and build an empire upon the broken bodies of my enemies.  It's the same feeling I get when I look at the artwork of Frank Frazetta, which transports you to a world where men were men and it was totally acceptable to crush an orc's skull without fear of arrest.  Now that world has merged with that of Frank Kozik's Labbit and the results are begging to be airbrushed on the side of a van.

Available as a San Diego Comic Con prerelease, this beast of a figure (artfully produced by Bigshot Toyworks) is ready to stand as the centerpiece of your collection.  Just don't be surprised if it also beheads your other toys and tries to make out with your mom.

If you're going to the aforementioned comic con you can preorder it for pickup from Kidrobot's booth.  If not, you can preorder it from wherever you normally buy toys and have that sucker shipped to the door of your mead hall/condo.

Complete Your Horrible Adorables Figure Collection from Kidrobot

Friday June 24th is gonna be a great day. Mostly because I get paid then, but also because Horrible Adorables and Kidrobot are releasing the last three figures as part of their collaboration.  I have all the other ones, just sitting on my bookcase as they wait for their brothers and sisters to join them.  They remind me of Pokemon in the fact that I have to have them all, but not in the fact that I'm an awkward teenager who thinks that skills in a Japanese card game will win me the attention of the fairer sex.  Spoiler alert, it doesn't, cause everyone knows chicks dig Dungeons & Dragons.

They're some of my favorite releases this year and Bigshot Toyworks nailed the production on them, bringing felt creatures into plastic reality.  Finish, or maybe start, your collection at www.kidrobot.com or wherever you prefer to buy toys.

Otto Bjornik's Shah Mat Dunny Series from Kidrobot

This Dunny set from Otto Bjornik and Kidrobot gives me major anxiety.  The designs are beautiful, the idea is brilliant, and I love the fact that I have the option to buy a complete set of figures in one fell swoop if I choose to.  What makes me anxious is the fact that in order to utilize them as a fully functioning chess set I would have to allow someone to touch them.  I get twitchy when people look at my stuff too long, so now I'm being asked to allow them to touch them with greasy fingers?  I wish you could experience me hyperventilate through the magic of the written word.  The obvious solution is that I would have to maintain the game board in a safe spot in my house, set up a webcam, and only play versus people living in foreign countries.  I am a genius.

Of course, most of you are not weirdos (maybe) so you'll have no problem inviting your friends over for a friendly game of chess.  And this is way better than that "Heroes of the Civil War" set your pa-pa got from buying those Time Life books (though if you don't want yours I'll be happy to give it a home).

You have two different options for obtaining these beautiful figures.  You can be sensible and buy the entire set, including game board, all at once. Or you can live dangerously and buy them as two packs in blind box form, which will include four tiles of the board.  Either way, you need these in your life, and that can happen when they are released on Friday, June 10th at www.kidrobot.com or wherever you procure your designer toys.

Kibbles and Labbits Blind Box Series from Kidrobot

Kibbles and Lab-bits, get it?  Oh, you gotta love a good pun.  And who doesn't love puppies?  Sickos, that's who.  The only thing that could make puppies better, besides them being able to train themselves, would be to also make them Labbits.  So Kidrobot has done some genetic wizardry and combined your favorite breeds with Frank Kozik's little bunny dude and the result is this blind box series.  They will be available starting Friday, June 3rd at www.kidrobot.com or wherever else you buy your toys.

The Next Two Horrible Adorables Figures From Kidrobot Have Arrived

Critter story of the week:  Sharon and I return from grocery shopping to find two chipmunks eating bird seed from below our feeder.  One was a baby and decided that it's best course of action upon seeing us would be to bunny hop each step on our porch and explore.  It was cute as hell but we were both loaded down with groceries cause we'll be damned if we'll make two trips to the car, so we kind of needed him to speed up his adventuring so he didn't really freak out and try to jump from the porch to the ground.  The bags got heavier as gravity pulled them closer to the ground and this little dude was just having the best time.  Finally we just gave up and waited till the fun ran out and he came down on his own.  I didn't say it was an epic critter story.

Horrible Adorables and Kidrobot have released the latest two figures in their collaboration.  Expertly produced by the folks at Bigshot Toyworks, they are ready to find their forever home with you.  And all you have to do is dust them every once in a while, which is way less work than any real life pets require.  Get em now at www.kidrobot.com or wherever you prefer to buy your toys.
