Orange Tabby Edition BurgetCat from Nathan Hamill x Science Patrol

Do you think old memes will ever come back into fashion the way clothes do? I've pretty much worn the same things my entire life and every 5 years or so I accidentally become the trendiest person I know. Our collective love for nostalgia extends to every other aspect of life, so why not bring back the wholesomeness of I Can Haz Cheezburger as we stare down our dark reality? There is little more uplifting in this world than a picture of a cat with a caption that reads in an eastern European accent.

Nathan Hamill is making me long for those days with his BurgerCat sofubi figure. Produced by Science Patrol, this Orange Tabby edition will be available beginning this Friday, January 10 at noon pacific time from http://nathanhamill.storenvy.com

“Mandrorglorian” Edition Sofubi Drorgs from Nathan Hamill x Science Patrol

I have yet to watch The Mandalorian for a few reasons, but mostly because I have been spoiled by the age of binge watching and was waiting for the first season to end.  I had also committed to the final season of The Man in the High Castle (whose last episode I would have preferred to have ended about two minutes sooner) and Mrs. Maisel, which serves as my palette cleanser between serious programming.  After that ends I will then dive deep with my borrowed Disney + account info and revel in the exploits of Baby Yoda.

Speaking of which, I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that little green dude is the inspiration for Nathan Hamill's latest series of Drorgs figures.  They're a mashup between everyone's favorite robot duo and those little puff balls that had held the title of "cutest things in the Star Wars universe" until Baby Yoda batted those big black eyes and made you forget everything you thought you knew.  Science Patrol (who handled all of the production on these figures) will be offering these as an open edition, which means that starting on Friday, December 13th and lasting until January 13th, you can place your order at http://sciencepatrol.storenvy.com and be guaranteed a set.

Mark Hamill Exclusive Funko Pop Vinyl Figures for DesignerCon

DesignerCon is only a few weeks away so prepare for your social media feeds to be inundated with releases that make your pupils dilate and your wallet wonder what the safe word is.  For those in attendance, may God forgive the thrashing you're about to do to your credit, cause there will be too much goodness to just window shop.  One of the more unique offerings that I've seen so far will be thees exclusive Mark Hamill Funko Pop Vinyl figures.  They come in two different designs, one in which he's keeping it casual and wearing a Lave Bear shirt designed by his son Nathan, and another where he is dressed as his most famous voice over role.  Now within those two designs there will different versions for you to collect, which you can see in the pictures I've included.  Those very same pictures also give you the very important locations in which you can procure said figures, lest you run around the show floor like a crazy person screaming Mark Hamill's name only to end up with someone recording it, selling it to TMZ, and you then you're forever remembered for your stalker-like meltdown.

If you're going to try and get them all, because why wouldn't you, I'm going to copy and paste the info you need right now so you can plan accordingly, as the purple metallic edition is only available by purchasing an MVP package to the show.  So read this carefully because unlike your other friends, I just want you to be happy:

Here is the breakdown:

- Mark Hamill (Black LavaBear shirt) Available to all attendees at booth 1805.

- Purple Mark Hamill (Edition of 1000) ONLY AVAILABLE VIA MVP PACKAGE

- Mark Hamill (Joker Suit) Available to all attendees at booth 1807.

- Mark Hamill (White LavaBear shirt) Available to all attendees at booth 1807.

- Limited Edition Combo (500 sets) with Mark Hamill POP (Black LavaBear Shirt) & LavaBear Shirt by Nathan Hamill as Seen on Big Bang Theory, booth 1805.

Drorgs Star Wars Inspired Sofubi from Nathan Hamill x Science Patrol

I can appreciate a good mashup because there are honestly too many things in the world for me to enjoy and not enough time to do so.  We as a society need to start condensing awesome things otherwise I feel like I'm going to miss something.  TV shows would be a great place to start because the list of shows I want to watch versus my ability to see them all if greatly disproportionate.  I remember when my wife and I started watching Breaking Bad just before the final season was to air and being freaked out by how many episodes we had to watch to catch up. Not only was it a daunting task but doing so just added to the backlog of other shows that I couldn't watch at the same time.  So if someone could figure out the technology where I could watch two totally different shows simultaneously while maintaining a high level of enjoyment for each it would be greatly appreciated.  Otherwise, I'm gonna need all the good shows to start blending their stories together so I can maximize my time and see everything that's recommended to me.  I think Good Omens and Superstore could easily become a single thing, so let's start there.

I love Porgs and I love Droids, so Nathan Hamill and Science Patrol are freeing up my love for other things by combining the two in glorious sofubi.  They come in two colorways, Carbonite and Starfield, and will be available for the first time at the appropriately named Scum and Villainy Cantina in Los Angeles.  Each set will be $40 and you can pick up yours during the event that is happening tomorrow, June 28, at 8pm.

BurgerCat: InfinityCat Edition from Nathan Hamill x Science Patrol

I didn't happen to catch the last Avengers film, but I got the gist of it:  Grimace's gym going cousin has a magic blinged out mitten that makes people go all pixelated and cease to exist.  It also doubles as a universal remote, stores your credit card info for faster payment processing, and can open any jar of pickles without needing anyone to loosen it first.  So my guess is the sequel that's coming out this weekend will involve the big purple guy getting his glove confiscated and his behind whooped for all of his shenanigans.  Don't even bother reading the reviews because no one will tell the story better and with more passion than I just did.

Nathan Hamill is piggybacking on all the hype for the new Avengers with the InfinityCat edition of his popular BurgerCat figure.  Now my question is if you are really hungry and you eat a powerful burger like this, will the power remain with you forever or will it only last until the digestion cycle is complete, thus transferring your super strengths to a much less appealing medium?  Marvel is not brave enough to make that film.

Each BurgerCat is made in luxurious Japanese vinyl by Science Patrol and will be available starting this Friday, April 26th at 12am est (1pm Japan Standard Time) exclusively from https://sciencepatrol.storenvy.com.

SDCC Exclusive Key Lime Burgercat from Nathan Hamill x Science Patrol

My sister and I are 18 years apart and I spent a lot of time babysitting when she was young.  There was one incident while I was watching her that I was sure was going to get me kicked out of the house permanently.   She was about four at the time and we were building with Legos when she bolted upright and ran through the kitchen and into the bathroom, laughing the entire way.  I thought it was strange so I got up to check on her and on the floor I noticed a randomly discarded package of food coloring.  All of the tubes were in the box except for the green one. Fearing the worst I banged on the bathroom door, eliciting an eruption of laughter from the other side.  I turned the knob and it was locked, so I yelled for her to get into the bathtub.  At the sound of her climbing inside I backed up and threw my shoulder into the door, less concerned about explaining the carpentry work that I would have to do than about what the hell she was up to.  The door gave way and standing in the bathtub, as proud as I've ever seen her, was my sister showing off her newly dyed green skin.  Thankfully she was less Incredible Hulk and more Jackson Pollock with her application, but it didn't negate the fact that it was a week before she started preschool and half her face looked like bad zombie makeup.  I couldn't even be mad because I was so panic stricken and she was laughing so hard and I was kind of nauseous as I tried scrubbing her back to her unblemished self.  Spoiler alert:  food coloring doesn't give a damn about a soap filled wash cloth or the fact that you may get murdered for not stopping your kid sister from giving herself an abstract facial tattoo.

Some things were meant to be green, like string beans, American currency, and this Key Lime BurgerCat from Nathan Hamill and Science Patrol.  Is he a cat that looks like a hamburger or a hamburger that looks like a cat?  Who cares, because this kitty is made of luxurious Japanese vinyl and is down right adorable.  This edition is an exclusive to San Diego Comic Con and can only be had by visiting War Machine Marketing's booth #1415.  Nathan will be signing them as well on Saturday and all the info you need to meet him and score a BurgerCat are in the photo at the top.

BurgerCat Sofubi from Nathan Hamill x Science Patrol

Have you heard about the tick that carries an illness that makes you allergic to red meat?  I'm freaking out about it because now the damn things have been found in New Jersey.  I swear to anyone that's listening if one of those things bites me I will make it my life's mission to cry myself to sleep every night because I miss hamburgers.  For real, this is a legit concern as my diet consists of 80% red meat, 10% generic honey and nut cereal from Target, and 10% Pepsi.  I am not capable of making a change that big in my life, least of all when it comes to food.  Here's a view into my desperation here:  I have a large garden and grow lots of edible things, not to eat mind you, but because I really really love looking at tiny baby vegetables.  Every morning I go outside and check to see if tiny baby vegetables sprouted.  That makes me happy and keeps me from punching strangers.  Ps: I love red meat.

Let's make it perfectly clear that this is a cat that is shaped like a hamburger, and not some sicko's idea of lunch.  Nathan Hamill's latest creation has been brought to life using luxurious Japanese sofubi by Science Patrol and is making it's full color debut this Friday (June 29th).  A mere $25 will get you one and they are available exclusively at http://sciencepatrol.storenvy.com.

Lava Bear Winter Edition from Nathan Hamill x 3DRetro

I'm very conflicted about this Lava Bear colorway.  He's called a Lava Bear, but he has a frozen motif going on.  Volcanoes don't erupt ice flows and glaciers aren't made of magma, so my head is spinning like that one time I hit it on a shopping cart.  Don't ask how that happened, not because it's an embarrassing story, but because I hit my head hard enough to not comprehend how things went down.  Or to give a more recent example, when I found out that there is a town in New Jersey called West New York.  What is that?  How can you even write that down somewhere without feeling weird about it?  I'm seriously working myself up into a panic over this.

Nathan Hamill has burned out my mental cylinders with his willingness to spit in the face of nature,  but his addition of flocking has has swayed me to the dark side.  Yes, this is the first toy that he's ever made that's fuzzy!  But only 75 of you will be able to experience how great it will feel petting one of these, because that's all he made!  You'll get a shot at new toy ownership this Friday, February 2nd at noon pacific time.  Eighty bucks will get it done and they're only going to be available from http://nathanhamill.storenvy.com.  In the meantime I hope Nathan avoids all prosecution for witchcraft in his attempt to sway the natural order of things.  Don't act like you'd be surprised if we all of a sudden started burning witches again in this country, because things have taken a rather crazy turn for the worst this past year.

The Hammy New Year Sale from Nathan Hamill

I don't bother with New Year's resolutions because I don't like to set myself up for failure.  The chances of me going to the gym are practically zero, my dietary restrictions are already at a place where eating better would be hard to do, and main eventing Wrestlemania seems a little far fetched despite my delusions of grandeur.  But one thing all of us could resolve to do is be a little better with our money and Nathan Hamill is going to lead us down the road of fiscal responsibility by kicking off 2017 with a sale.

Officially dubbed the Hammy New Year Sale (it took me a moment to realize it was a play on his last name and had nothing to do with a love of pork products) you'll be able to get those items of his you've been coveting while saving some cash in the process.  So not only will you have extra money, which is responsible, you'll also be able to surround you with things that make you happy, which is important for your mental well being.  It's like grabbing 2017 by the neck and whispering softly into it's ear "I am the captain now"!

Visit his site at http://nathanhamill.storenvy.com, use the code HAMMYNEWYEAR, an enjoy 20% off of everything your heart desires.  The sale is going on now through January 9th at 12pm pacific time, so don't procrastinate cause that would set a bad tone for the rest of the year.

Kaiju Frankenstein from Nathan Hamill x Touma x 3DRetro

This is what happens when you take those trips down to Mexico in an effort to save on plastic surgery.  There are many ways to become fiscally responsible, like cutting down on your visits to Starbucks, or hitchhiking wherever you need to go, but invasive medical procedures should be at the bottom of that list.  Along with cable television, because that is a necessity.

Frankenstein's dueling personas aren't the result of a medical vacation in Tijuana though.  He's feeling a bit torn because he was created by two different folks.  Nathan Hamill designed one side, Touma the other and then 3DRetro slapped em together to create this conflicted looking monster.  Do you think they share one brain and always agree, or do you think that like conjoined twins they have their own personalities that fight to be unique?  Pick one up at www.3dretro.com for $49.99 and create your own narrative.

Exclusive "Glow In The Dark" Lavabear from Nathan Hamill x 3DRetro for SDCC

I've often wondered what it is my cats are up to at night while my wife and I are attempting to sleep.  I say "attempting" because we are usually woken up every hour by one of them needing attention, or so catastrophic noise from another part of the house.  They are so loud that if someone broke in they would probably get half of our stuff out the door before I realized it wasn't just another kitten stampede.  I'm gonna be heated if I wake up and I can't watch Wendy Williams talk smack on people while I eat my cereal!

One of the things I've wondered is how they react to the shear amount of toys in the house at night, especially the glow in the dark ones.  It's gotta be kinda freaky to be walking along, doing your cat thing, while all these little plastic figures are glowing all around you.  Maybe they think they're witches and are performing elaborate, albeit, noisy rituals to stop them from casting spells.  Or maybe they just don't give a crap one way or the other and are just having fun being as destructive in the dark as they can be.  It's probably that last one.

Nathan Hamill and 3DRetro are bringing an exclusive Lavabear to San Diego Comic Con that will glow in the dark and may or may not interest your cat.  The cool thing about this is that it doesn't have that sickly white coloring that most toys do that glow in the dark, so it looks just as nice in the daytime as it does while you're stumbling around with a baseball bat at 3am to protect your television from what may or may not be a prowler.  Only 75 were made and Nathan will be around to sign them on Saturday, July 11th from 2:30pm-4pm at the 3DRetro booth.

SDCC Exclusive Lavabear from Nathan Hamill x 3DRetro

Cute things with big pointy teeth make me leery.  On the one hand, you kinda wanna pet them, but on the other hand, you may have to make a visit to the emergency room shortly there after.  I'm glad that at the zoo they make it pretty hard (though not impossible) to snuggle the dangerous creatures, otherwise I would be on the news a lot and I think my insurance company would drop me.

Lavabear from Nathan Hamill is quite adorable in vinyl form, though he looks a little bitey.  Being that he is an inanimate object the threat of evisceration is probably minimal, so I'm gonna go ahead and label him safe.  This fellow will be an exclusive for 3DRetro at San Diego Comic Con and is limited to 125 pieces.

Celebrate the 30th Anniversary of Ghostbusters With This Octopup from Nathan Hamill x 3DRetro

Sharon and I just watched Ghostbusters 2 on Netflix the other night and as a result would like to petition Rick Moranis to make more movies.  That dude is seriously funny, and he didn't have to rely on toilet humor like most comedians do these days.  That makes me sound kinda old, but I don't care, because I don't think it takes any talent to be crude.  Now get off my lawn before I call the cops!

In case you didn't know, this year marks the 30th anniversary of the original Ghostbusters film.  Do you remember the scene in the library where they irritate the lady ghost while she's reading and she gets all mad and transforms into a hideous creature?  That scared the crap out of me when I was little, so much so that each time I watched the movie I would turn away at that part.  I was also scared of Jaws, my own shadow, dirt, free range monkeys, the Dewey decimal system, and nursing homes to name a few, but that ghost ranked up there.  Lucky for me I outgrew most of those and have become a pillar of manliness that can look that scary lady in the eyes and know that she won't keep me up at night most times.

The best way to celebrate any milestone in life is to buy toys, so lucky for you Nathan Hamill and 3DRetro have created an Octopup to mark this occasion.  He looks like he was molded from the same wad of goo that the ever popular Slimer was, and he will be available to haunt your halls beginning this Sunday, June 8th, at noon Pacific time from http://www.3dretro.com/.

And I'm still serious about Rick Moranis making more films.  Lets get a Kickstarter going to make Spaceballs 2 happen.

Aqua Edition Octopup from Nathan Hamill x 3DRetro

Let's face it, toys are for the most part expensive.  It's not easy to be a collector, and its even less easy to write about toys and want to buy everything you see.  And I live in an area where there really aren't too many options for buying this stuff in person, so you have to be mindful of shipping costs on top of that.  So it's nice to see that someone is making a toy that is affordable enough that you can collect every version that they release and not have to dig through the trash behind the grocery store to find your dinner.

Nathan Hamill and 3DRetro continue their series of soft vinyl Octopups with this aqua version.  Available starting tomorrow at noon Pacific time at http://www.3dretro.com/,  each one is only $10, so you can still buy yourself some chicken nuggets and have new toys.

Pink Lemonade Octopup from Nathan Hamill

Yes, I watched the Super Bowl, and yes I was pleased by the thorough beating Seattle put on Denver.  My other thoughts on the big game:

1.)  There were no monkeys in any commercials as this was the year of the bear.  I noticed 3 commercials with bears, 0 with monkeys, which I was kind of disappointed with at first, because there is not much I enjoy more than monkeys doing people stuff.  But overall I did like the commercials and would tell you my favorite ones but I have the memory of a goldfish.  I was told I liked them though, so we'll go with that.

2.)  Bruno Mars didn't suck it up as bad as I thought he would.  You should save that last sentence to use against me at a later date, because I will deny I ever said it.  I still think his music is in direct relation to what is sitting at the bottom of your septic tank, but the showmanship was there.  And the Red Hot Chili Peppers weren't around long enough for me to want to puncture my ear drums with ice picks, so that was a plus.

3.)  Did you see Prince on New Girl directly afterwards?  I never pegged him for having a sense of humor, but he even referenced the Chappelle's Show skit about him making everyone pancakes.  Though I would have lost my mind if he had said "game...blouses"after he beat Zoe Deschanel at ping pong.

Ok, back to business.  Nathan Hamill is releasing these Pink Lemonade Octopups tomorrow (Tuesday, February 4th) for $25 each.  He only hand painted 7 of these canine/cephalopod hybrids and you can get one at noon Pacific time only from http://nathanhamill.bigcartel.com/.

Shipwreck Edition Octopups from Nathan Hamill

People keep making different breeds of dogs do the deed to create new, sometimes weird, looking hybrids.  Yeah, it's kinda fun at first creating designer mutts I suppose, but that's old hat.  It's time to impress me folks and cross breed dogs with different animals.  Sure it's not as easy as putting a dude and a lady dog in a room with a Barry White cd, some scented candles, and letting nature take it's course, but that's what science is there for.  We may in fact regret making German Shephards with tentacles, but we won't know until we try and imagine the fun we'll have along the way.

Nathan Hamill has already predicted the future of dog breeding with his Octopup toys.  This is the Shipwreck edition featuring copper spray on translucent green bodies.  Only 7 were made and they will be up for sale tomorrow, January 16th, at noon Pacific time for $25.

Limited Edition Cosmopup from Nathan Hamill

There's a lot of stuff coming out today.  It's like the toy universe is challenging me to write about all of it.  Well, I have to go to work soon but I wanted to squeeze in one more post about these custom Octopups from Nathan Hamill.  He only hand painted 6 of these little dudes and one can be yours when they go on sale today at noon Pacific time at http://www.nathanhamill.bigcartel.com/.  I have to go take a shower now.  Not that you needed to know that.

Nathan Hamill's Black Friday Sale

Oh, Black Friday.  That wonderful day of the year when people trample each other to death at Wal-Marts all over the country trying to get a $100 laptop for their kids.  How on earth this is not an official holiday is beyond me.  They should call it Darwin's Day, and we'll celebrate the cleansing of the gene pool by watching all day marathons of James Bond cause they can't fit every movie into Thanksgiving, there's just too many and I always miss my favorite ones cause they don't play them in order.

Nathan Hamill wants you to stay safe from the violent hordes of bargain shoppers by offering a sale on his website.  And it last a whole week!  You just have to use the code "HAMILLHOLIDAY" to save 25% off your order from November 29th - December 7th.

3DRetro Exclusives for Designer Con

If the lights happen to go out at Designer Con, signaling the fact that North Korea has finally invaded us, then the 3DRetro booth will be the safest place to run to, as their whole booth is gonna glow like Three Mile Island.

First up, we have the special glowy MoonSHINE Edition of Scott Tolleson's Bitta Critta.  Little known fact about me:  I'm not actually from New Jersey, I just live here now.  I actually grew up in Virginia, and whenever anyone learns that they all want to know a.) do I watch those moonshine shows on tv and b.) can I help them make some.  The answer to both of those questions is surprisingly no, though the second one does sound exciting.  I could be the Walter White of New Jersey party juice.  The figure will be $50, while hiring me to build you a still will be substantially more as soon as I Google how to do it.

Get all this and more at booth #104. (That was meant to be sung, like a jingle)

Also something that may come as a shock to you is that I don't have any good stories involving bats or human skulls.  I do get a kick out of the giant fruit bats at the Philadelphia Zoo, as they look like foxes with wings.  That is cute and also horrifying at the same time, because what if foxes learned how to fly?  And then the coyotes would learn, and the wolves, and we would be getting dive bombed by predatory mammals on a daily basis.  And you think getting pooped on by a bird is bad, a wolf poop dropped from high enough could probably give you a concussion.

This is of course Strife and Sire from Nathan Hamill.  These two guys glow too and are also $50.  I'm detecting a distinct theme here.  Nathan will also have prints available that he collaborated on with Pronto Pixel for $30 that are ready to snazz up your living space.

Glow in the Dark Octopups from Nathan Hamill x 3DRetro Release Today!

I like when things glow in the dark because I lose everything.  If all of my important things glowed I could just turn off the lights and wait for them to magically appear.  Unless they didn't get a chance to charge up their magic glow juice before I lost them, in which case none of this would work and I've just wasted your time trying to tell you how awesome it would be.  Moving on.

Nathan Hamill and 3DRetro are releasing these glow in the dark Octopups today at noon Pacific time for the low low price of $10 each.  And they're doing an Instagram contest for everyone that buys one.  Here are the details:

 1. Buy a Glow Octopup
2. Take a creepy, kooky, mysterious or spooky Halloween-related photo with your Octopup.
3. Post it on Instagram and Hashtag #Octopup and #GlowOctopup .  That's it!

A winner will be picked for best photo and the winner will receive the next special release of Strife and Sire (more news on this one very soon).  Contest ends on November 5th.

See, you not only get a toy, you get an activity that will keep your little hands out of trouble.

Get yours by visiting http://nathanhamill.com/ or http://www.3dretro.com/.
