Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire Soft Vinyl Figures from Mondo

The best thing about Godzilla is that unlike my favorite space opera, whose toys I used to collect like crazy, they don’t just keep repackaging the same figures ad nauseam. Someone is constantly redefining what Godzilla and his cohorts look like so there are always cool things that I have to buy so my brain keeps releasing those happy little chemicals. The stress of finding somewhere to put them all could be a problem, but I refuse to let that sort of negativity in my life. Besides, I haven’t even begun to display them in the bathroom yet, so there’s still room.

The folks at Mondo are releasing two new figures inspired by the upcoming Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire film that are totally beyond any movie tie in you’ll see for sale in a big box store. There’s a place in every collection for screen-accurate replicas, but these babies are a work of pure art.

Both figures are massive, with Kong coming in at ten inches tall and Godzilla just a hair over that, and limited to only 400 pieces. Kong isn’t as tall, be he does come with swappable arms and an axe, cause every diva needs their accessories (I’m team Godzilla, btw). They can each be yours starting tomorrow, Thursday, March 28th. They will retail for $190 each and can be had starting at noon central time from

Space Godzilla from Mondo

Adding the word "space" to most things will turn it into something impossible to take seriously. For example there's Space Force, the new branch of the military we somehow needed? You know you laughed when you heard about it because it sounds absolutely ridiculous. Space Godzilla could very well have followed the same fate, had he not been so killer looking. The dude has giant crystal shoulder pads like some reptilian linebacker and more jewels from head to toe than Elizabeth Taylor's estate sale. And he does all this while looking mean as hell, so how can you not absolutely love him? Remember when Jason from Friday the 13th went to space? Yeah, things could have turned out like that.

Mondo has been churning out some of the best Godzilla figures I've seen recently and they are set to debut the first colorway of Space Godzilla this Tuesday, February 7th at 12pm ct . Inspired by his look in the film, this version is limited to 400 pieces and will retail for $150 when it goes on sale at

Blue Variant Devilman from Mike Sutfin x Unbox Industries x Mondo

I could go for sprouting a set of bat wings, as long as they were retractable and I could still sit comfortably.  I figure if I managed to have bat wings in the first place the same magic that gave them to me could also make them able to disappear adequately.  And also get rid of my fear of heights, otherwise I'd only be able to fly about as high as a regulation basketball rim before getting the shakes.    These are the things my brain forces me to consider when I know I have to be up in five hours and actually trying to fall asleep makes doing so impossible.

Mike Sutfin's beyond detailed and uber popular take on Devilman is now in it's third incarnation with this Mondo exclusive blue variant.  Produced by the vinyl elves at Unbox Industries, there was little warning about this release, as it makes its debut today, Tuesday May 22nd, at noon central time. Ugh, you guys are killing me with all this cool stuff right before Five Points Fest.  Snag one and dream of the freedom that a pair of leathery wings would give you by visiting

"Waiting for My J Man" Harley Quinn Statue from Mondo

Look how beautiful this is.  If you didn't know better you would think that it's just a cute girl into dressing like a weirdo and listening to her records with nothing but possibility in her eyes.  The world is hers and she is gonna live life to it's fullest, with nothing standing in her way.  But instead you know it's everyone's favorite sociopath, waiting for her equally psychotic boyfriend to come home.  You'd also know that because this statue is titled "Waiting for My J Man", which kind of gave it all away right there.

Harley Quinn has never looked so fetching as she does in this work from Mondo.  Just look at that face:

She sure is puuuuuurrty and she's available for preorder right now in two different forms.  The first one is $250 and is identical to the one you see at the top there.  The second one is a mere $10 more and features a collection of records that you can scatter about her as you wish.  Standing (or sitting) at nearly 10 inches tall, she can be yours by visiting

"The First Hellboy" Statues from Mondo

You know what I find fascinating?  Besides the fact that anyone can not want to punch Bono in the face.  Seriously, the guy is practically begging for it.  But besides that,I find it fascinating how popular things start out.  For instance, have you ever seen the original concepts for Star Wars?  The characters started out looking way different than the ones we all know and love.  Chewbacca looked like an overly hairy cookie elf and C3PO could have stared in a remake of Metropolis.  My head hurts just thinking about it.

Imagine how blown my mind was when I saw these new statues from Mondo.  I never realized that this is what Hellboy looked like before he evolved into the cat loving demon we all know.  He's available in two versions, with the black and white one an exclusive to the Mondo website.  Both 12 inch statues are available for preorder right now by clicking here.

The Iron Giant Deluxe Figure from Mondo

If you can watch The Iron Giant and not become an emotional wreck then you might need to reconsider the state of your feelings.  It's a great film and one of the first instances of animation that I can remember that really transcended the Saturday morning cartoon for me and showed me how much more that medium could be.

Obviously that film effected a lot of other people in the same way because it continues to inspire the creation of new art. Like this impressive new figure from Mondo.  Known for their amazing poster releases, their new venture into toys has so far been pretty impressive.  This toy is made from the actual digital files they used to create him in the movie, features 30 points of articulation,  and comes with a bunch of different accessories.  You can preorder him now for $300 from

If you can't quite swing the cash for the whole figure but are still feeling nostalgic, you could purchase this life-sized replica of his bolt (if you've seen the movie you'll know why this is important).  It features a flashing light and at only $65 you can own this piece without feeling too guilty about your bank account.
