Lil Alex Mini Sofubi from Frank Kozik x Blackbook Toy

During this pandemic we have all had to adjust our lives significantly to stay healthy.  For my wife and I, that means if they're not paying us or it doesn't involve buying groceries, we're not going.  In turn, that's amplified our interests in other things.  We've gotten really good at gardening and we take walks around our neighborhood every night.  Seeing a squirrel or rabbit now has us Crocodile Hunter-level excited and we will watch the most common animals like we just landed on Madagascar.  I can't tell if we've hit the adorable phase of middle age or if we've taken a sharp turn into weirdo territory.

On our walks all of the rabbits we encounter seem to have much better attitudes than Lil Alex.  Frank Kozik's A Clockwork Orange inspired figure has been shrunken down but is still chock full of the ultra violence.  Blackbook Toy made the popular sofubi smaller, added a ton more articulation for maximum posing ability, and also made it ultra affordable for all of us ballers on a budget.  The first versions are being offered in either black or clear, with an option to purchase a set.  They're accepting lottery entries until July 12th, so if you find yourself unable to live without em, here's what you need to do:

A Clockwork Carrot: Supervillain Edition from Frank Kozik x Blackbook Toys

Why so serious?  I usually take giant bunnies who carry bloody knives and crowbars pretty seriously.  Something just doesn't seem pure about their intentions.  And giant bunnies don't even need weapons soaked in their victim's genetic makeup to be freaky.  Most of those dudes at the mall that want you to sit on their lap for Easter photos are pretty freakish looking.  They are instantly believable as remorseless killers.  Kinda like clowns, or politicians.  But then you dress one up as Batman's arch nemesis and you give him some toys to play with and there is no doubt that this bunny has more than chocolate eggs on his mind.

Speaking of Batman, have you seen the picture of Ben Affleck all dressed up in his armor?  I'm still holding onto hope that they were just kidding about him being Batman and secretly Christian Bale is still the guy.  But then I think that a Batman/Superman crossover is gonna be dumb anyway, so who cares if Ben Affleck is really the Dark Knight?  No, I still care and it still saddens me.  Moving on.

Ok, so these things go on sale Friday, May 16th at midnight in Tokyo.  That means if you live in LA, this killer bunny clown from Frank Kozik x Blackbook Toy will be available to you May 15th at 7am, 10am for those of you in New York, and 3pm in the UK.  I know it's kinda confusing, but if you want one you gotta be prepared and I'll help you as much as I can.  Just don't ask me for money, cause I don't want to have to laugh at you.

Minty Fresh Exclusive Mono Deathshead S'murk from David Flores x Blackbook Toys

Don't worry, this S'murk doesn't actually have mono, it's referring to the paint scheme.  There's already enough places in the world that you can get diseases and thankfully toys are not one of them.  There's public bathrooms, sketchy deli meats, your mom: the list goes on and on.

This little guy was made by David Flores and Blackbook Toys and is an exclusive to Minty Fresh.  Only 50 pieces were made and they are available right now at http://www.mintyfresh.eu/.

Toy Art Gallery Exclusive Deathshead S'Murk from David Flores x Black Book Toy

I've seen this figure in a load of color combinations, but this simple black and white scheme is by far the best.  I thought I would like the blue version, because it is the same as the obvious inspiration behind the toy, but the simplicity of this paint job really allows you to appreciate the detail of the toy.  And it tastes like chicken.

That is my restaurant critic review of this Deathshead S'murk from David Flores and Black Book Toys.  This is why no one ever calls me back when I want to write for their magazine.  I do so well, then my brain has a need to force something ridiculous in at the end.  My mind is the evil saboteur of my writing career;  it is Jekyl and Hyde.  By the way, if anyone is reading this that wants to hire me I'm totally ready and swear I could get my crap together.

The toy you see up there is an exclusive to Toy Art Gallery and will be going on sale tomorrow at noon Pacific time.  It's limited to 50 pieces and will retail for $95.
