Ultimate Collector Series R2-D2 Lego

Be prepared.  I only wrote about Star Wars stuff today.  I know.  I let you down.  Now you sound like my real dad.

This Ultimate Collector Series R2-D2 from Lego is pretty sick.  You build it from 2,127 pieces, which means you shouldn't let your cats anywhere near it because they will surely sneak off with a few without you noticing.   It does more than just sit there and wait for you to knock it off the book shelf.  The third leg retracts (I'm not going to say it),  the head rotates, other things open and close and it makes ice cream.  Ok, not that last part.  He can be yours in May for $180 direct from Lego.

Darth Malgus Life Size Figure from Sideshow Collectibles

The term "life size figure" conjures up a lot of weird images for me.  Most of them are not family friendly and I would prefer that I not have ever heard of them.  But this puts a more innocent spin on what could otherwise be a scandalous thing you have have to be 18 years or older to purchase.  This giant Darth Malgus makes me wish how all of my old Star Wars toys had all been life size.  Just picture a backyard filled with giant plastic space men!!!!!  You could bring all of your friends over to help you move them around and recreate scenes from the movie and you could laugh when Chewbacca falls over and crushes your one annoying friend who always smells like old cheese but no one will tell him cause his dad taught him how to bar fight.

So anyway, I saw one of these at New York Comic Con last year and I could not figure out how to steal it.  Now I just have to steal enough money to buy one from Sideshow Collectibles when this sucker is released.  They won't reveal any more info until May 27th on this guy, so you should sign up for their email list in case I forget to tell you about it.

Rsin x Lysol Greads Available Tomorrow

Ok, let's make something very clear.  I would smack a baby to own one of these.  I'm not even kidding.    Bring your little misbehaving child over here and I will slap them in the kisser for this toy.  Ok, maybe I'm exaggerating a little bit, but I still want one pretty badly.  We've all seen Lysol's creation Gread before, but we've never seem him with the added stylings of Rsin!  These will be available Tuesday, March 27th at noon eastern time for only $20 each. $20 for a hand made and hand painted toy?  That's practically giving them away.  If you're even considering getting one of these you better be near a computer ready to make it happen because these will sell out instantly.  Of course I have to work when they're being released, which bums me out to no end.  But you'll have to live my dream for me and snatch one of these guys up.

Batman vs. Joker Artfx Statue from Kotobukiya

Oh, snap!  It's gonna be hard for the Joker to laugh so much with his jaw wired shut.  This epic statue of epicness (that is the word of the day) is brought to you by the amazingly talented folks at Kotobukiya.  This is based on a scene from Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns and stands over a foot tall!  That's pretty big.

This will be available later on in the year and will retail for around $130.

The Elder Thing from Skinner

There are certain things I like in life; things that make me less likely to snap and go on a killing spree.  Cats are one of those things.  Slurpees are another.  But I also love metal, epicness, and H.P. Lovecraft which are but three of the many ingredients in this awesome toy.  Based on the classic Lovecraft tale In the Mouth of Madness, this Elder Thing was created by Skinner and Jay222 and can bring a bit of literary classiness to your home for only $100.  Oh, and they go on sale today at noon so you should probably stop looking for Olivia Munn's leaked pictures and buy yourself this monster that is beyond all that you can fathom.

Custom Toy Event of the Week: Bellicosity

I'm switching up the Custom Toy of the Week feature up a bit this Friday to tell you about an amazing custom toy show.  Why you ask?  Cause I want to sucka!

Nathan Hamill is pleased to present to you Bellicosity, taking place tonight at Toy Art Gallery In Los Angeles.  All of the artists involved took Nathan's Bellicose Bunny toy and added their own spin on it turning in some amazing, and disturbing (thank you Luke Chueh for things I cannot unsee) customs.  See toys from Jon-Paul Kaiser, Rsin, Julie West, Touma and tons more.   If you live in the Los Angeles area you should go cause what else are you doing tonight?  Stalking George Clooney?  Stalking Angelina Jolie?  Stalking Betty White?  I've never been to L.A. but I've always assumed that people do a lot of stalking to pass the time.

Patricio Oliver Wants You to Pick His Next Toy Design

Recently, a lot of people have been interested in toy collector's opinions.  Most of the time I am more than willing to give mine whether it is solicited or not, so it's nice for a change to actually be asked.  Patricio Oliver and Unbox Industries want you to decide what the next figure they produce will be.  You have the choices pictured above and the figure with the most votes will join the crazy world of The Tenebrae.  You only have until March 28th to let your voice be heard and as an added incentive, one person will be randomly chosen to win one of the figures once its made.  It's better than voting for the president because you won't feel dumb afterwards when he screws the whole country up (not that that happens in EVERY election) plus you never win anything from politicians but higher taxes.  Go here and cast your vote now:  http://www.facebook.com/TheTenebrae
