Super7 Godzilla Exclusives for San Diego Comic Con

Super7 has been absolutely killing it with everything they do involving Godzilla. And by “it” I mean my statement balance from my credit cards as I convince myself rather easily how much I need all of it. They’ve been my favorite toy company for a long time, but the creative releases they’ve managed to come up with for the world’s best Kaiju just cements that status even more. Now obviously I want everything you’re going to see here, but I’m gonna start with my top 3 must haves that will still allow me to pay my electric next month.  Let us begin.

Thus far I’ve managed to display my previously acquired figured outside of their packaging, despite the part of me that screams a little to keep them mint. The packaging on this two figure set from Godzilla vs. Megalon is such perfection that it will go into my display case as is and remain that way until my eventual estate sale. I mean come on, I would show this off like people show pictures of their kids, it’s that beautiful.

Who came up with this, because this is the kind of genius that could successfully run a a small country. This ReAction figure is of course inspired by the iconic Aurora model kit and is about the coolest thing I’ve seen today. This is will open because it looks too good next to the box to leave it hidden away. These kits came in a few different colors over the years, so I wouldn’t be surprised if more are in the pipeline. Not that I have any insider info on that because no one tells me anything, even though I still haven’t said a word about how Andy Jordan was the one smoking a joint in the bathroom in eighth grade that set the fire alarm off and forced us to evacuate when it was raining. Taking that one to the grave, Andy!

Wait a second, this isn’t even a toy. How did a t-shirt sneak its way into my top 3? Just because you didn’t know I was into fashion, doesn’t mean it isn’t true. This Hedorah shirt from Chris Lee is sure to get me on every best dressed list that matters and probably a few that are a little bit suspect. Never has a destructive smog monster been so adorable and I can’t wait to wear it proudly as I convince my wife that my mental health relies on plastic monster toys to stay rooted in the “all good” zone. Lady Gaga says I was born this way so I don’t know what to tell you.

Below you will see the rest of their Godzilla goodies that I’m trying to talk myself out of but will inevitable fail at and end up getting anyway. I mean, I’m doing the best I can over here. These will all be available at San Diego Comic Con at booth number 2543 and online on July 29th at

Super7 San Diego Comic Con Leftovers On Sale Today

I've never been to San Diego Comic Con.   I used to really want to go to San Diego Comic Con, but looking at the pictures online I am more than happy to have been home during the entire affair.  I'm not a huge fan of wall to wall human beings and prefer to be able to walk freely with as little impending my progress as possible.  That's not to say I wouldn't go, as I have been to the smaller New York Comic Con, it's just that I can't promise I won't freak out on an anime kid once my nerves are shot.

If you were like me and didn't make it to the west coast never fear, because Super7 is going to give you the chance to snatch up their leftover exclusives.  Starting today at noon pacific time, anything that didn't leave with the hoarded masses will go online for anyone fast enough to get em.  Park your browser at and get hype for new toys.

"Show No Mercy" Reaction Figure from Slayer x Super7

Super7 is killiiiiiiiiiiiing me with their Reaction figure line.  The designer toy world has largely ignored music licensing for some reason, but thankfully someone has picked up the slack and gotten really creative with it.  I've seen Slayer more than I've seen anyone other than Marilyn Manson so you better believe I lost my mind when I saw this figure pop up on Instagram today.  It features the minotaur character from their debut album in classic action figure scale and the cover artwork as the card backing.  This is obviously a case of buy one figure to open and buy one to keep in the package as you'll need one to set up crazy photoshoots with the rest of your collection.  GI Joe has no idea what's coming for them.

These will be up for sale beginning next Wednesday, February 13th, at and their retail locations in San Francisco and San Diego.  The kid I went to middle school with who refused to talk to anyone but literally had every Slayer shirt ever printed is probably really excited right now.

Bullet Edition Crimson Ghost from The Misfits x Super7

The Misfits are one of my all time favorite bands and I was finally able to see them with Danzig when they played in New Jersey this past May.  Of course I had to catch a stomach bug the day of the show, so the drive to Newark involved more than one pit stop and a lot of praying in between each.  Had it been any other show I might have turned around to be sick in the comfort of my own home, but there was no guarantee they would ever play together again after this one.  I manned up harder than I ever had before and made it through.  As I'm rereading this it sounds like one of those "how I spent my summer vacation" essays they make you write in school.  Deal with it.

Super7 continues their awesome collaboration with The Misfits with the Bullet edition of their Crimson Ghost mascot.  He comes blood spattered to mimic what I'm sure was a controversial cover at the time and what most likely will be when people see this (it's actually already started on a post made to Super7's Instagram). Last time I checked we as human being had much more important things to worry about, but why bother solving bigger issues when we can be outraged on the internet about things that don't really matter?  We are so easily distracted.

Releasing next Wednesday, September 19th, you can add this to your collection by visiting

Iron Maiden MUSCLE Figures in Red from Super7

Nothing calls to mind Valentine's Day quite like Iron Maiden.  I can't help it if you choose to disagree and label yourself as unromantic, that's on you.  Super7 is doing its part to ensure they get the credit for being the ultimate mood setters by releasing this three pack of M.U.S.C.L.E. figures.  Cast in the ultimate lover's color, this limited set featuring a few different incarnations of the band's mascot Eddie can be had now for only $6.00 at

Roses will die, but Iron Maiden will live forever.

New Painted Edition Wing Kong from Super7

My favorite gorilla story happened while my wife and I were at the Philadelphia Zoo.  There they have a very spacious outdoor enclosure as well as an indoor one where they can climb and put sticks in their butts (that's my second favorite gorilla story) and whatnot.  We walk into the indoor portion because that offers you the ability to get as close to them as their indestructible glass will allow and they really aren't paying us any attention.  We stand there for a few minutes to see if they'll do anything interesting when an Amish family approaches from behind us.  All of a sudden this one gorilla rushes over to the glass and sits down right in front of them like it's the craziest thing he's ever seen before.  This dude is seriously giving them the once over like they were on exhibit and instantly I didn't feel bad about the time I was trying to take pictures of one of their horse drawn buggies parked outside of Wal-Mart because it seems all creatures are equally fascinated by the Amish.

The end.

Make your own monkey memories when this new version of Wing Kong from Super7 debuts today (Wednesday, February 7th).  He's going to be unleashed on a very expecting public at 3pm eastern time at  Quantities are limited so act with a sense of urgency, folks.

Acid Green 18 Inch Aliens Warrior from Super7

Halloween isn't just about turning your lights off and pretending not to be home to prevent freeloaders from taking all of your snacks.   Nope, it's also about treating yourself to some new toys to make you forget about your seasonal depression and the ball of snot that has lodged itself in your head until spring.  Super7 is making it look a whole lot more like Christmas with this Acid Green Alien Warrior figure.  Standing 18 inches tall, this plastic beast will be going on sale Halloween day through and their retail locations.   Tell the neighborhood kids to get jobs and buy yourself this instead of candy.

Misfits ReAction Figures from Super7

I haven't used this picture in a while to describe a toy, so let's dust it off and let it express how I feel about these:

That's right folks, these Misfits ReAction figures from Super7 have warranted the coveted and desperately cute hungry otter meme.  I give it out sparingly to prevent it from losing that wow factor, but here it is describing my feelings perfectly.  Thanks little buddy, I hope you were able to get the ice cream sandwich of your dreams.  Unless they're not good for otters, then I hope he was able to be given a just as delicious substitute.

This Halloween you can snag both versions of this epic collaboration when they go on sale at and at their retail locations.  Now if only they'd play a reunion show in Philadelphia, all would be right in the world.

Skeletor Halloween Decoration from Super7

Those jointed skeleton decorations for Halloween were pretty much standard issue when I was a kid.  They were so prevalent that I feel the government just automatically sent you one if you were a tax payer.  Just when I thought it was impossible to improve on that which is already perfect, Super7 said "hold my beer" and created one using Skeletor.  It's big, it's ridiculous, and it deserves to be hung year round.  Made of heavy card stock you can pose him however you like for maximum enjoyment for years to come.  And he glows in the dark to scare you have to death when you have to pee at 3:30 in the morning because you're getting old and your bladder has decided to pursue other interests that don't involve helping you sleep through the night.

He's $45 and ships free in the United States.  Pick one up over at

New York Comic Con 2017 Wrap Up

New York Comic Con 2017 was a weird one for me.  Just three days prior Sharon and I had returned from a week in Yellowstone and vicinity so we were still pretty worn out by the time we boarded the train to New York.  Day one was spent partly in frustration in a sea of people, while day two certainly made up for it.  Here are my thoughts on this annual pilgrimage of nerd-dom and sweaty folks:

- The Javitts Center was on lock down all weekend, with metal detectors at every entrance and the SWAT team roaming around with heavy weaponry.   The level of security was due to the craziness in Las Vegas and I was glad to see that they took everyone's safety so seriously, so kudos to the organizers.

-  The best cosplay I've ever seen involved a mother and father with two very tiny twins in a double stroller.  They had all dressed like characters from The Shining and it was awesome.

-  The Block, which is the area that features designer toys and is what I'm personally most interested in, was pushed from their normal spacious area to a small corner in the back by the loading docks.  This made visiting with people I wanted to a near impossibility as the tide of the crowd funneled through such small aisles would move you whichever way they were going.  I'm not terribly claustrophobic, but I was starting to feel it.

-  We randomly ran into former WWE wrestler Jake "The Snake" Roberts by an escalator on day one. He was extremely nice and we talked for a bit about what he was up to and how he was doing after his documentary.  In case you haven't seen it a camera crew followed him around as Diamond Dallas Page tried to help him get his life back together while battling serious addiction.  He even asked us if we'd like to take a picture with him, which we were happy to do.  On day two when we saw him again it was clear that the happy ending of his film wasn't as black and white as he had made it seem.  He hit on my wife in a manner that would have been offensive had it not been so utterly hilarious and pathetic.  It reminded me of some internet troll hiding in the safety of his mother's basement and anonymously behind a computer screen as he harassed young girls without the benefit of a filter on his thoughts.  Actually, I would have been offended had I not felt sorry for the guy knowing the reality that he would have to live with long after the convention floor had closed and the adulation of his fans had once again disappeared.

-  We randomly bumped into Michael Ian Black in one of the aisles on day two.  He did not sexually harass my wife.

-  I spent the least amount of money I ever had at the convention as the releases were much fewer this year.  I don't know whether Five Points affected this or the event that was simultaneously going on in Taiwan, or whether so much focus has just been shifted to Designer Con.  Either way it felt different than the past incarnations of comic con, as if this convention has become more of an afterthought for the world of designer toys.

- We saw some really inspiring stuff in the artist's alley this year.  Lots of original work that was more fine art rather than just another version of Harley Quinn.

-  There were some cool prototypes for toys that I'd be happy to own.  Here's some photos so you can start planning your finances:

The Tenacious Toys mascot is going from resin to vinyl in the near future.  Looked to be around five inches tall, so it's gonna be a pretty hefty chunk of plastic.

Super7 is releasing these amazing Misfits Reaction figures soon.  Available in red or black, I'm gonna need both of these pretty badly.  And I heard that there's gonna be a King Diamond figure too!!!!

Tara McPherson's Skullflower prototype was on display from Toy Qube.  Loved the smaller version and being that I have almost every other toy she's released this one is a must.

-  Sharon was most excited to meet Swatch, the shop dog from Mood fabric stores.  That's where all of the contestants shop for their materials on Project Runway and that little pup is always there being buds with Tim Gunn.  We now have pictures with two famous animals as they were sleeping, with Grumpy Cat being the other.  Hobbies keep you out of jail.

-  The thing that keeps me coming back every year despite any negative things I may have pointed out are the intangibles that go beyond buying an item or meeting a celebrity.  One of my favorite things is to grab lunch and sit on the floor in one of the big halls and just people watch. We'll sit for an hour or so and look at the costumes and listen to the camaraderie that forms between two people from merely being a fan of the same franchise.  When you buy a ticket in you're buying an experience and as long as I remember that I always enjoy myself.

-  I saw a guy on the train make his girlfriend stand so he could use the seat next to him to eat his dinner.  He would literally sit him hamburger on the unprotected cushion rather than the wrapper that it came in.  I'm sure he was either murdered by his girlfriend later that not after she processed this indignity or the special strain of New Jersey Transit bacteria ravaged his guts and brought him to an unceremonious end.  Either way, he is no longer with us.

Well, that about does it.  There was sweat, thankfully no blood, and certainly no tears.  Except for that dude on the train, who probably cried a lot when he made it to the nearest bathroom.

Check out for all of the pictures.

Celebrate Alien Day With Blind Boxed ReAction Figures from Super7

There's no better way to celebrate something than with new toys.  Whether it's a promotion at work, the birth of a child, or not stabbing someone in the face who was practically begging to be stabbed in the face, you should always mark momentous occasions by treating yourself to something nice.  Since today is Alien Day(the post office still delivers mail today, right?) there's no better way to  have a good time than with some blind box Xenomorphs from Super7.  These ReAction figures come in one of three different colors that will totally be a surprise until you rip open the packaging to see what you've got.  These are available at all Super7 retail locations and will be online starting at non pacific time today at

On a side note, did you see Kenny Powers is gonna be in the new Alien movie?  I know it's the guy that plays Kenny Powers, but I'm just thinking how amazing a crossover that would have been.  Ideas like this make me wonder why I'm not allowed to make big decisions.

Aliens Warrior Classic Toy Edition from Super7

On the tail of the trailer for the brand new Alien film and just a few weeks after debuting at Toy Fair, Super7 is making this big ol figure available for preorder.  I've racked my brain trying to think of something funny to say but I'm drawing a blank.  Have I lost my touch?  Is it time to start writing about high school football for the local newspaper?  Will we ever prove that Ted Cruz is in fact The Zodiac Killer?  The future looks cloudy, but if you want to own this eighteen inch behemoth of a toy you can do so by visiting  He'll set you back $195, but if money is truly the root of all evil you should be trying to rid yourself of it anyway.  After you buy one of these send me the rest of your tainted cash and I will dispose of it so it can't hurt anyone ever again.

Vintage Inspired Skeletor and Beast Man Sofubi from Super7

These are what I've been waiting for!  Not that I haven't enjoyed Super7's previous releases of Skeletor and Beast Man, it's just that these two are exactly like the figures I grew up with.  It's the perfect marriage of my interests as a kid and my interests now which is what makes them amazing.  I never get tired of a good nostalgia trip and any dude my age probably feels the same about these.

Available starting tomorrow (Wednesday, November 16th) as a made-to-order presale, you have no excuse not to get them both.  Now whether you have an excuse to turn you flower beds into Eternia and wage epic warfare against He-Man is something you're on your own with.

Five Points Festival Tickets Are Now On Sale

I was pretty excited when I heard about Five Points Fest.  It's like comic con, but it feels more curated and adult in that it's focusing on designer toys, comics, street art, and food.  And the key word there is "curated" because they're promising that there won't be table after table of selling the crap you can buy at Wal-Mart.  Kidrobot, Super7, Tenacious Toys, Lulubell Toys, and more have already signed on and it's also going to be the new home of The Designer Toy Awards.  Sounds good, right?  The event doesn't take place until May, but you can buy tickets for it right now.  VIP tickets even include an exclusive Dunny from Kidrobot and Gary Ham.  Don't be left out, get your tickets now at

Monoghost Maroon Marauder from Super7

At first I thought this dude was a "Moonghost" and I was thinking how that would be the most boring place anywhere to be a ghost.  There hasn't been anyone to haunt for decades and there's absolutely nothing to do but sift through the dust for treasure that isn't there.  The only worse place to haunt would be those steam rooms where gross dudes sit around in towels and complain about their tax incentives or whatever sweaty rich people talk about.  At that point who's haunting who, am I right?

Ok, so this is actually a "Monoghost" and as you can see his looks make me think he still could be some sort of alien spectre.  You can quiz him about life on the other side yourself when he's made available from Super7 today, Wednesday October 26th, at noon pacific time.  Get him at

Super7's NYCC Exclusives Are Available Online Now

Somehow I have resisted the urge to put these micro Mummy Boy and Rose Vampire toys in my nose.  They are the perfect size to just shove right up there if you were so inclined, but again, I have not done it.  If you want to though, and weren't able to attend New York Comic Con, Super7 is making it easier because these and their other remaining exclusives are available right now.  Just check out and in no time you could be sitting in the emergency room waiting for them to extract one of these from your nostrils.  How you explain it to them is all up to you.

NYCC Exclusives from Super7

Ooooooh New York Comic Con is just a few days away and I've moved some money here, ignored some bills there, and I'm ready to come home with a ton of new stuff.  Some of that stuff will hopefully be from Super7.  Take a look at what they will have and see if you can guess what I want.  (Here's a hint:  it's the Micro Mummy Boy and Rose Vampire).  All of these and more will be available at booth #126.

First Full Color Release of "The Worst" Action Figures from Super7

Let me tell you, when I was a wee lad there was nothing better than finding a good stream and taking all of my GI Joe figures there to play.  I'd spend hours refining the landscape and setting up epic battles and just the thought of it makes me want to go outside and do it again.  How come it's taboo for a grown man to want to play with action figures?  I bet the world would suck a lot less if we did. Hell, we've convinced adults that coloring books are therapeutic, so why can't you play with toys outside without the neighbors thinking you're a freak?

There's only so many times that you can take Cobra Commander to jail, allow him to be rescued, and start the whole process all over again before you start to question his abilities as an evil villain.  That's where The Worst come in.  They are comprised of the most sinister evil doers known to mankind and are ready to tear things up.  But I know you can't choose just one of these bad bros from Super7 to add to your collection, and on Wednesday, September 14th just before the stroke of midnight you won't have to.  Because you can get all six carded figures for only $90.  These things demand to be opened and played with, so you'll probably want two sets so you can continue to admire the killer artwork by Ed Repka in their original, unspoiled state.  Get em at

This dude is by far my favorite.

Super7 SDCC Exclusives Online Now

You didn't go to comic con and neither did I.  That practically makes us family.  That also makes us straight out of luck when scoring those exclusives without paying disturbing flipper prices.  Or does it?  Super7 has just posted their remaining exclusives online at so now you can get all the stuff you wanted without some cosplayer poking you in the eye with a fake sword due to lack of costume awareness (that happened to me once).  Check out some of what you could treat yourself to:

Super7 Vinyl Exclusives for SDCC

I've never been to San Diego Comic Con.  Heck, I've never even been to California.  In fact I only crossed the Missipssippi for the first time in my life last year.  I'm not what you would call well traveled, but I've got spunk and by golly that's gonna carry me to the top!  Now I may just be simple caveman toy writer, but I know that Super7 is the booth with the goods at comic con.  Peep all the goods you can pick up at booth number 4945, including the debut of Bat Boy!!!!!!!
