New "Bloodwipe" SnotBlower from Pushead x Medicom Toys

When an edition of a toy is named "Bloodwipe" the jokes pretty much write themselves.  Thankfully I have chosen to spare you of any stories about eating at Golden Corral in Delaware and then getting trapped in traffic after a Nascar race let out.  Just so you know ladies, the pain of giving birth is no longer an experience you alone share.

Pushead is getting ready to drop the latest versio on his Snotblower figure that he made in conjunction with Medicom, and if you live in the United States the best way to get one is from Toy Tokyo, either in store or online.   For the rest of the world, check out http://www.medicomtoy.co.jp/ to get your hands on one.

NYCC Exclusives from Funko x Toy Tokyo

New York Comic Con happens is just 8 days away and to prepare myself I took all of next week off from work.  You gotta be on your game when you go to this thing.  You have to be mentally sharp so you can seek out all the best deals before anyone else.  You have to be physically strong to push your way through walls of people that jam every aisle.  And you have to build your immune system to levels that would melt down a nuclear reactor, because someone there is going to sneeze on you.  It's inevitable.

One of my first stops every year is to visit the folks at Toy Tokyo.  You can't even call their setup a booth because they create a miniature version of their store in the showroom.  And by miniature I mean kinda huge and bigger than what you would expect.  They always have a ton of older items that I missed out on the first time around, but being a convention you know it's all about the exclusives, and they have some pretty great ones courtesy of Funko.  Here's a rundown of what I know about so far.

Freddy and Jason 8-bit ReAction figures!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Do I need to say anymore to entice you to want these?  They sell themselves, really.  For those of you that don't know, they are sporting those wacky colors because that's how they looked in their hideously awful Nintendo games way back in the day.  It's kind of a weird nostalgia trip to think "hey these look just like those games I was really pissed about wasting my money on when I was a kid, I MUST HAVE THEM".  You know you need them.

Do these look unfamiliar to you?  That's because these Omamori Pop! Vinyl figures are usually  available to customers in Asia exclusively.   But Toy Tokyo will be the only store in North America to have these in this black and gold color scheme.  You're not gonna find these sitting on a shelf at Wal-Mart, so make sure you you get there early, cause people are gonna go nuts when they see them.

Looks like someone parked under a tree filled with ghost birds.  Do ghost birds still bombard your car with poop?  Someone should suggest the Ghost Hunter guys to go and investigate that, cause if I'm driving around in my sweet Hyundai and it's covered in ghost poop I'm gonna be pretty mad.  I'm sure that if I was driving Ecto-1 around I wouldn't have a problem getting a free car wash though.

What, there's still more?  Take a deep breath cowboy, cause the exclusives keep coming in just about every style of figure Funko makes.  Some of the Hikari soft vinyl figures they create benefit from this style of manufacturing more than others.  Astro Boy definitely looks awesome in both of these incarnations.  From what I hear these guys are uber limited and they would fit nicely in with your vintage Japanese toys.  Don't have any vintage Japanese toys?  Now you'll have a good excuse to go and buy some.

The Creature from the Black Lagoon used to be the most menacing thing anyone had ever seen in the water.  Then some shark from New England shows up and people forget all the pioneering work he did in snatching bikini clad ladies.  Well not today, for today we will mark his achievements in underwater terror with this figure.  Put it in a place of pride in your home, maybe next to your high school diploma, or meemaw's ashes.

Get these and more by visiting booth number 101.

SDCC Exclusive Milk Choco and Dark Choco Miyu Square Cosplay from Toy Tokyo x 3A

Alright ladies, I know you're working hard on your costumes for San Diego Comic Con, but if you are stuck on who to dress up as may I suggest you take inspiration from the photo above.  Or really any of the girls from the world of 3A would be fine with me.  No need to thank me,  I'm just here trying to be your costuming muse for the sake of the greater good.

I love that someone has finally made a convention exclusive toy that takes into account the culture of convention going.  And not only that, but 3A have combined two of their popular characters in doing so.  Toy Tokyo has these Milk Choco and Dark Choco Miyu Square Cosplay figures on lockdown and they are limited to 50 pieces each.  So if you want one you better get to booth 5337 early cause these ladies will most likely be pretty popular.

SDCC Exclusive Hikari Figures from Toy Tokyo x Funko

Are there more Funko toys on the planet than people yet?  It seems like every five minutes they're making something new.  And it would be cool except for the fact that I want just about all of it.  Space is seriously starting to become a premium in my house and the only rooms that don't have toys in them yet are the bathrooms.  I will most likely not be able to say that by the end of the year.

Toy Tokyo is making the trek to San Diego Comic Con and they're bringing a bunch of stuff with them, like these exclusive Hikari figures.  The Skeletor is my favorite, but Batman and Leonardo are looking pretty snazzy in their bright paint schemes.  Just make some extra room in your suitcase and get all three so you won't be sad about it the whole way home.

Toy Tokyo Exclusive Red Batmobile Pop! Vinyl from Funko

If you're lucky enough to ever be in New York City you could wait in line for hours to go to the top of the Empire State Building, fight through crowds of very confused tourists in Times Square, or you could skip all that stuff and go to the greatest landmark the city has to offer:  Toy Tokyo.  I'm not blowing smoke either, Toy Tokyo is my favorite store in all of New York.  Even though I've been there a handful of times it never ceases to make my draw drop and turn my brain to mush with the shear amount of things I want.  Sharon just holds stuff up and I nod and drool and that's how we know what to buy.  Seriously, this place does not suck and nothing will have ever made you wish you were rich so badly.

And Toy Tokyo has all the hookups, so they get cool stuff like this exclusive Red Batmobile Pop! Vinyl set from Funko.  Now, they are doing something really different for this release for those of you that will be trying to order online.  It will only be available (in limited numbers mind you) at this new website they set up:  http://toytokyoexclusive.com/.  Don't try and go to their regular site, cause there will be no Batman for you.  There all also other things that you need to know about this release, and for that info I direct you to https://toytokyo.com/blogs.  Seriously, you better read it if you want one.  These drop tomorrow (Tuesday, January 8th) at 2pm on that special site I just told you about a few sentences ago.  You got this.

The Loyal Subject's Optimus Prime Custom Show at Toy Tokyo

You wanna see some cool, custom Optimus Prime figures? You wanna buy some new Transformers toys before everyone else? You want free food? Well, you might be a little greedy (kidding, we all know free food tastes the best) but you are in luck because The Loyal Subjects and Toy Tokyo are gonna make all your dreams come true this Saturday. Look at all those details right in that picture. Could they make it any easier for you to have a good time? And you could be the first collectors anywhere to get your hands on the new 3 inch Ultra Magnus figure and make all your friends jealous.

On a side note, I know there's a huge debate about designer toy companies making licensed toys. What I would love to see is a marriage of both worlds by having artists interpret these classic characters and release them as production figures. I know it's probably much harder to make it happen, what with the people that own the properties having to be convinced that it's cool for the brand, but I think it could be successful for everyone involved. What do you think?

Peter Kato for New York Comic Con

I've been wondering what happened to this guy.   Peter Kato is making his return to the toy world at New York Comic Con with some really different pieces that what we were used to seeing from him.  Different in a good way, not like when someone asks you what you think of their new tattoo and you say "well, that's different" because that's the nicest thing you can think of while concentrating really hard to make it look like you're not gonna puke.  Do your research people, just cause someone does tattoos doesn't mean they do them well.  That is my public service announcement for today.

Check out this Mole Tank dude.  Peter has really upped his game with this guy.  There will be two different versions available.  The one up top there is an exclusive to Toy Tokyo and is limited to 12 pieces for $30 each.  The one you see below will be available through Peter's web store and at the Onell Design booth on Saturday from 4-7pm and Sunday from 1-5pm.

These guys look too cute to go into battle.  But maybe that's the Army Jack's secret weapon, the distract you with their adorableness and before you know if they have you locked up in Guantanamo Bay.  Each 1 inch figure is only $5, so you could build a literal army of them if you wanted to.

But why have an army is you have no one to do battle with?  So you're gonna need some of these Tako-Terriansto protect the earth from.  They will be $10 each at the show and online.

There will also be these linocut prints in an edition of 15 for $5 each and these buttons for $1 each that will be available when http://peterkatoshop.com/ re-opens this Thursday, October 10th.
