Steel Age Joker from 3A

This image of The Joker would sell me instantly on any movie he was in.  I have no idea how they could contort a real life human being's face like this, but it would be worth it.  Just think: if the design was this amazing you know the story line couldn't suck.  It would be impossible.  Impossible, I say!

There isn't an ounce of sanity left in this dude's grin and that's what makes him interesting.  3A does a great job of taking something very familiar to us all and presenting them in a way that feels fresh, and Steel Age Joker is no exception.  Featuring fabric clothing and led lights in his already creepy eyes, this should have any Bat-fan drooling all over their comic books.  Which for the sake of market value are hopefully in protective sleeves to preventing water damage.

Available beginning October 4th at http://www.bambalandstore.com, for $240 (which includes world wide shipping).

KEIKOJOKER at Coin Rides Game #4 from Fool's Paradise

Let me tell you something, Fools Paradise does licensed toys like no one else.  I love to see a company take such well known characters and blow my mind with such a refreshing presentation.  How many times can you make just a miniature version of some dude that everyone knows and expect people to get excited about it?  The answer is apparently "infinite".

But enough bellyaching when there's this beauty to talk about.  It's equal parts cute, frightening, and irreverent, and thankfully looks nothing like the meth head Jared Leto version of the Joker that we're stuck with courtesy of the Suicide Squad film.  Ahhhhh negativity is like a bad burrito that just won't stop haunting me.

I really don't know any better way to describe this thing than to have you look at the pictures and try to wrap your own head around it.  You got a nearly naked hot chick with a Joker-styles panda head riding a miniature coin operated Batmobile.  Actually, that does sum it up quite nicely.  I may have a future in this yet.

You can preorder this beauty until July 13th by visiting http://doublefools.blogspot.com.  Only 380 of these will ever exist though, so get on it and own the greatest conversation piece a Batman fan could ever hope for.

Harley Quinn as Seen In Arkham Knight from Prime 1 Studio x Sideshow Collectibles

This is one purrty statue.  I'd be scared to death to own it though, because I know as soon as I unbox it one of my cats is gonna scratch an itch against it and send it crashing to the floor.  And that's just what could happen while I'm watching them.  There's always the distinct possibility that I turn my back only to have them do some resculpting with their teeth.  I'm kind of willing to risk it though because this Harley Quinn is one of the best I've ever seen.  Prime 1 Studio and Sideshow Collectibles have outdone themselves with the world's most adorable sociopath.  Priced at $929, you can see why having my furry little children anywhere near it would make me especially nervous.  But it's also a great excuse to make a baller, uber secure display case that in and of itself is a conversation piece.  Is it too hipster to dig a moat in your living room?

Preorder this beauty right now from http://www.sideshowtoy.com and it will come with those exclusive Batman and Joker dolls you see.  Medieval means of protection not included.

Life-size Armored Batman Statue from Hot Toys x Sideshow Collectibles

Not that long ago I had an incident that made me think about home security.  Like any good man looking to protect his homestead I began to weigh my options.  I thought about obtaining a firearm, or installing a home security system, or even going completely medieval by putting a few severed heads on spikes.  There's nothing quite like a few rotting heads of your enemies to let potential troublemakers know how you play ball.

But nothing felt like me (except the severed head thing) and then I saw this.  Standing at over 7 feet tall, this life sized Armored Batman from Hot Toys and Sideshow Collectibles just screams home security.  All I'd have to do is push him in front of my door at night to send would-be burglars running back from whence they came.  Now, hiring Batman as permanent protection for your domicile doesn't come cheap, not should it.  He'll set you back $7999.99, but never you worry because they offer a payment plan.  Check out the details by visiting http://www.sideshowtoy.com/.

Steel Age Batman from 3A

Hope you saved some of that money you got for Christmas, cause I'm about to spend it for you.  Allow your eyes to gaze upon the beauty that is this Steel Age Batman from 3A.  He's always been  man defined by his duel personas and the design of this figure echoes the fight within.  His medieval armor says "I'm ready to dole out some rough justice", while his Dr. Marten-esque boots say "I've got tickets to the Nine Inch Nails show."   Either way, heads are gonna get stomped.

You already know you want one.  Heck, you might have stopped reading this awhile back and are currently planning what you can get rid of to make room for it.  After you've finished you're going to want to know that this figure, in all of its 1/6th scale glory, will be available December 31st for $240. Be the envy of all your friends only from http://www.bambalandstore.com.

Win a Joker Labbit from Frank Kozik x Kidrobot

Sadly, Labbit Appreciation Week came to an end a few days ago, but you can still celebrate by winning this sweet 7 inch Joker Labbit from Frank Kozik and Kidrobot.  Log onto your Instagram account right now, do what the picture says, and you're entered to win.  I'm even gonna ship it to you for free, which is pretty awesome cause I'm notoriously cheap.  Why should I pay a doctor when Youtube is chock full of informative videos for all your surgical needs?  Hell, people survived the Civil War with less medical knowledge than we have access to today on our smart phones.  I got this.

Cue the Rocky Theme, Cause I'm Feeling Like a Champ Reviewing the Batman Labbit from Frank Kozik x Kidrobot

We made it, folks!!!!  Originally the plan was to do five reviews in five days, but I think we should go bigger.  This is Labbit Appreciation Week after all, so I'm using the last bit of gas in my tank to do SIX reviews in SIX days!!!!  I know, it's pretty nuts.  This is like Evel Knievel jumping the Snake River, except I'm gonna land safely on the other side, thrust my fists in the air, and get my face on a commemorative plate.   And we're gonna do a giveaway on Instagram to celebrate all the fun we've had this week.  More about that later on though.

Uh oh, it looks like Batman has pulled The Joker's card, and being that I've heard an N.W.A. song or two in my day, I know that means bad news for a certain clown.  This isn't Adam West's Batman folks; this is the gritty, unshaven vigilante that Christian Bale and Christopher Nolan made so popular.  The Dark Knight indeed!!

This dude is the perfect companion piece to The Joker that I reviewed earlier in the week, and where the former shined with subtlety, the latter is killing it with tons of printed details.  Lots of black shadows and a fully stocked utility belt really bring the character to life.  Like The Joker there is no sculpting on this Labbit, which really serves to give it more of a comic book feel.  It also speaks to how great the art is that I don't miss the 3D aspects that we've come to expect in recent releases. Though he does come with a removable cloth cape, which after I took the photos I decided to put in a drawer because we have a cat that would see that as an appetizer.  He's already had to have a shirt sleeve removed from his gut, so his trustworthiness around any sort of fabric is less than none.

With cape.

Naked.

Do I love it?  Yes, yes I do.  I'm a sucker for anything Batman, but especially when it's presented in such a unique way.  It's the perfect marriage of a well-known license and a designer toy.

Na na na na na na na na na na na na bat butt.

The caped crusader is available right now at www.kidrobot.com and wherever designer toys are sold.

New Toys from DC Comics x Kidrobot to Debut Tomorrow

My poor kitty Wednesday is sick.  She's got really long hair so she frequently gets hairballs and I think she may have one stuck somewhere in her digestive track.  We're going to the vet later today so instead of pacing around the house and making myself sick with nerves I decided to share new toys with you.

Back with another sudden release, Kidrobot is unleashing new toys tomorrow based on characters from DC Comics.  There will be a mini series featuring many of your favorites, but the real stars of the show are the Batman and Joker Labbits.  I've been coveting these suckers for well over a year and wouldn't you know it that they come out the day after I have to pay what I'm sure will be a huge vet bill.  I'd do anything for my cats though, so while I may not get them tomorrow, I'm sure I'll get em eventually.  They're both the 7 inch versions and will retail for $59.99, while the mini series of figures will be sold via blind box and will cost $11.99 each.  They will be available starting at 10am MST on www.kidrobot.com.

Li'l Gotham Keshi Style Mini Figures from Kotobukiya

Check out these little dudes.  The residents of Li'l Gotham have gotten a keshi style makeover from the folks at Kotobukiya.  Each one comes in 6 different colors and they will be sold blind in little bags that will contain 2 figures.  And at less than 2 inches tall they are very tempting to shove into your nose, but I wouldn't do that unless you have really good health insurance with a low deductible, because it can be a very expensive and humiliating lesson to learn.  Not that I would know from personal experience, but I've heard stories.  Expect to see these soon wherever you prefer to buy your toys.

SDCC Exclusive Hikari Figures from Toy Tokyo x Funko

Are there more Funko toys on the planet than people yet?  It seems like every five minutes they're making something new.  And it would be cool except for the fact that I want just about all of it.  Space is seriously starting to become a premium in my house and the only rooms that don't have toys in them yet are the bathrooms.  I will most likely not be able to say that by the end of the year.

Toy Tokyo is making the trek to San Diego Comic Con and they're bringing a bunch of stuff with them, like these exclusive Hikari figures.  The Skeletor is my favorite, but Batman and Leonardo are looking pretty snazzy in their bright paint schemes.  Just make some extra room in your suitcase and get all three so you won't be sad about it the whole way home.

Toy Tokyo Exclusive Red Batmobile Pop! Vinyl from Funko

If you're lucky enough to ever be in New York City you could wait in line for hours to go to the top of the Empire State Building, fight through crowds of very confused tourists in Times Square, or you could skip all that stuff and go to the greatest landmark the city has to offer:  Toy Tokyo.  I'm not blowing smoke either, Toy Tokyo is my favorite store in all of New York.  Even though I've been there a handful of times it never ceases to make my draw drop and turn my brain to mush with the shear amount of things I want.  Sharon just holds stuff up and I nod and drool and that's how we know what to buy.  Seriously, this place does not suck and nothing will have ever made you wish you were rich so badly.

And Toy Tokyo has all the hookups, so they get cool stuff like this exclusive Red Batmobile Pop! Vinyl set from Funko.  Now, they are doing something really different for this release for those of you that will be trying to order online.  It will only be available (in limited numbers mind you) at this new website they set up:  http://toytokyoexclusive.com/.  Don't try and go to their regular site, cause there will be no Batman for you.  There all also other things that you need to know about this release, and for that info I direct you to https://toytokyo.com/blogs.  Seriously, you better read it if you want one.  These drop tomorrow (Tuesday, January 8th) at 2pm on that special site I just told you about a few sentences ago.  You got this.

Ame-Comi Holiday Harley Quinn and Posion Ivy Two Pack from DC Collectibles

Sharon and I have a cat named Icarus that is fond of eating just about anything he can get his little black paws on.  He's eaten shoe laces, a shirt sleeve (which earned him a trip to the emergency vet), cat toys, people toys, blankets, paper, plastic bags, and countless other objects that were rendered unidentifiable by the time they passed through his digestive system and I dug them out of the litter box.  On the bright side, I am finally able to use my very expensive degree in forensics as I try and solve the mystery of "What Icarus Ate."  Luckily for us, we have  finished basement, which allows us to decorate for Christmas while keep it locked safely out of his reach.  Unlucky for us is the fact that I don't have to see that stuff everyday so March can easily come before I decide it's time to take down the tree.

That's why these toys from DC Collectibles are genius.  You can leave them up year round and people won't think you're lazy, they'll just think you're showing off your collection.  And Harley Quinn is my favorite chica from the Batman universe, and Poison Ivy's pretty cool too.  You can preorder this two pack right now and they will ship just in time for Christmas.  Just click on that Entertainment Earth link to the right with the South Park dudes and order away.

Deathstroke New 52 ArtFX Statue from Kotobukiya

Yeah, this Deathstroke statue may be based off of his updated design from the New 52 series of books from DC Comics, but all anyone is thinking about right now is that he will be prominently featured in the Batman: Arkham Origins video game.  It's a prequel, which everyone knows how I feel about those, but if it even closely resembles the last two games then I will be extremely happy to lose countless hours of my life to it.

Kotobukiya created this ArtFX statue  and he stands 12 inches tall and features a removable mask.  He'll be released in November for $119.99, which is a pretty big chunk of change until you see one of these in person.  The amount of detail, let alone the size of it, will blow you away.

Harley Quinn Bombshell Statue from DC Comics

While my birthday isn't until December, I am not above accepting early gifts.  Of if you have any housework you need doing, I'd be happy to come and help supervise in exchange for this.  I'm very good at delegating, less so at actual cleaning.

I am completely smitten with this pin-up inspired Harley Quinn statue from DC Collectibles.  This is by far my favorite incarnation of the Joker's psychotic companion and I might have to actually cave and buy this one (if the whole begging for gifts thing doesn't work out that is).  Would it be wrong to put a donation button up on my blog so you could sponsor me and my toy buying addiction:

For the price of a cup of coffee a day, you could help an obsessive collector realize his dream of owning every toy he could ever want.  For your donation you will receive a monthly newsletter and a picture of your sponsored collector, hugging his most prized possessions.  And unlike Sally Struthers and those other crooks who only actually give those kids 10% of your donation while spending the rest on buckets of chicken, you can sleep soundly knowing that every penny has gone into buying objects to make Chris happy.

I wonder if I can get Sarah Mclaclan to do a commercial for me and depress the crap out of you.

While I'm working on my sad face and trying to find a filthy cage I can fit into, you can go and preorder this statue right now so it can be delivered to you when it releases in November.  I eagerly await your sponsorships.

Harley Quinn Preorder from Sideshow Collectibles

Psychosis is an attractive quality in any woman.  Sure, you could be into girls who "have there stuff together" or that "lack felony convictions" but what fun is that?  You'll have much better stories to tell your grand kids if your special someone has a murderous gleam in her eye.

Everyone's favorite former Arkham Asylum employee is getting the Premium Format Figure treatment from Sideshow Collectibles.  And she ain't a cheap date.   There are 2 different versions of this figure, but both of them cost $359.99.  The exclusive version comes with a switchable head that features her without her makeup.  I don't know why there is a difference when the prices are the same, maybe one is more limited.  What I do know is that they start taking preorders for these tomorrow (May 16th) and they offer payment plans.  You can totally justify this to your significant other by saying you're trying to build your credit.  Unless you took my earlier advice and are with a sociopath.  Then you should just be quiet.
