Shub Zeroth Permafrost Edition from Metacrypt x DSKI ONE

It is not the claws, or the teeth that man should fear, of those beasts that have gone unseen by anyone living today.  It is not their rise from oceanic depths, flooding our cities in their massive wakes.  No, man's fears shall be realized just in the fact that such beasts exists.  Beasts beyond anything the human mind can fathom.  And when you stare up at the monstrosity before you, this knowledge will render all of your notions of the world into useless mush.  Behold Shub Zeroth, destroyer of world's, reckoner of mankind, lover of shrimp cocktail.  Seriously, you would poop if you saw this in real life.  And so many people would die just from trying to record him on their cell phones so they could put it on Youtube later.  Oh, the horror of trying to gain more followers!

DSKI ONE has brought this behemoth from Metacrypt to life with a rather awesome paint job and you can welcome it into your home this Thursday, May 1st at 11am Pacific time.  Very few of these are in existence and will be sold exclusively through http://lulubelltoys.com/.

Grody Shogun x Cojica Toys x Shirahama Toy Release Today from Lulubell Toy Bodega

What's this?  I'm actually doing a post on a Sunday?  That's right, because I am like the mighty cobra and can strike at any moment.  I may go back in time and do a post last week, that's how crazy I can be.  I like to keep you on your toes and sometimes I just get some info so cool that I gotta get it posted so you can get all the cool stuff that makes life worth living.  So I guess I'm like a cobra that would sneak up on you and give you a hot stock tip.  I'm such a nice snake.

Super Festival has been going on in Japan this weekend and I have been at home drooling all over my computer at all the plastic goodness I wish I could have.  But what's this I see?  Something for those of us that are extremely jealous and depressed right now?  Grody Shogun got the dudes from Cojica Toys and Shirahama Toys to paint up these bad boys for a special release dropping today.  You get both of these for only $55.  They go live on http://www.lulubelltoys.com/ today (April 27th) at noon Pacific time.  That's really really soon, so get your typing fingers prepped and your credit card on high alert folks.

Eternal Cloud Red Dragon Edition from Restore

I can't even make jokes when talking about something this amazing.  Restore is known for making some mind blowing toys, but this one is by far their best creation to date.  The Eternal Cloud figure is made up of Japanese soft vinyl and resin and is created out of about 15 different pieces.  This thing is like an amazing tattoo come to life.  Seen here is the Red Dragon version of this figure, which is available for preorder right now for $125 from the fine folks at Lulubell Toy Bodega.  The preorder window is open until the 29th of May at noon Pacific time and the figures are expected to ship in August.

New Minions Sets from Paul Kaiju x Skinner x Lulubell Toy Bodega

I had this dream last night where I laid down to go to bed and for some reason there was this recessed part of the ceiling directly above my pillow.  Inside that space were the biggest, most grotesque insects I had ever seen.  Giant spiders, beetles, and all kinds of other crazy bugs were moving all around and threatening to fall on my face.  In the dream I jumped out of bed and this one flying critter flew over to me and started speaking english, all wanting to be my friend and hang out  with his razor-sharp talons and blood-soaked teeth.  He spoke like he had done really well in school, but that didn't stop me from beating the living hell out of him.  I splattered his bug blood everywhere, all while trying to keep an eye out for his little buddies.  I felt kind of bad about it, but I figured he was a dirty liar who would probably bore a hole through my ear drum and suck out my brain.  This dream can really mean only two things:  either I need to start getting more sleep or I need to stop looking at toys like this before bed.

Skinner and Paul Kaiju are set to release this brand new series of Minions on an unsuspecting world this week, and Mr. Kaiju himself hand painted these creepers.  They will be sold blind bagged and you will get one of the two sets you see featured above.  They go on sale this Saturday, February 15th, at 12:01 Pacific time only from Lulubell Toy Bodega.

Brain Bug Boogie Man from Cure x James Groman x Lulubell Toy Bodega

I love a good descriptive title.  Brain Bug Boogie Man doesn't really leave a lot of room for interpretation does it?  Every component is there, as you can clearly see.  And the picture itself has all the info you need as a consumer to make a wise purchasing decision.  Go on, take a moment to peruse it, I'll wait.

Oh, but wait.  The picture doesn't tell you where to buy it from.  See, I'm not completely expendable.  Though you could have Googled the name and found it easily on your own, I'm glad you stuck around here and waited for me to tell you.  That's why we're such good friends.

Eternal Cloud from Restore Now Available to Preorder from Lulubell Toy Bodega

This might be one of the most impressive figures I've ever laid eyes on in person.  I saw the unpainted prototype at New York Comic Con last year and this thing is AMAZING.  Restore makes some of the best toys you'll ever see and they really upped their game on this one.  This sucker contains 15 different parts made of both Japanese sofubi and resin to create the new centerpiece of your collection.  Lulubell Toy Bodega is offering preorders of this from now until January 30th.  It's retailing for $120, which is not much at all when you compare it to toys half its size and half as detailed that cost just as much.  Plus, you're getting your tax money back soon, so splurge a bit.

Monoclon from Cojica Toys x Lulubell Toy Bodega

I happen to know somebody who thinks dinosaurs never existed.  I can't even remember how such a topic was brought up, but she just flat out doesn't believe they were ever real.  I've never heard anyone say this before, so I asked her why she felt this way.  She proceeded to tell me that she doesn't believe they were ever real, and I quote, because "they are just too big."  That's it.  No religious, or scientific reason.  Not even something that was suggested by Kanye West.  Nope, just that they would be "too big."  Oh, and the groundhog we have that lives outside might be an armadillo (in New Jersey), except for the fact that they're extinct. Her wealth of knowledge about our natural world knows no bounds.

But who really cares if dinosaurs never lived due to size limitations, cause they still make cool toys.  Like this Monoclon dude from Cojica Toys.  On December 1st you'll be able to own one for yourself when they go on sale through Lulubell Toy Bodega at noon Pacific time.

Seen at NYCC: Lulubell Toy Bodega

One of the good things about New York Comic Con is that I get to meet people that I normally only get to correspond with on the internet.  Granted, I am much less socially awkward online so I probably seem like less of a weirdo that I do in person, but I try.  It was good to finally meet Amy from Lulubell Toy Bodega, who are by far one of my favorite toy stores/manufacturers.  They come out with some of the most mind blowing stuff you'll ever see and they are great at keeping it affordable.

While that dragon figure you see from Restore was not for sale, it was pretty impressive.  The detail on it was some of the best I've ever seen and will surely be popular when it goes into production.

I managed to snag my first ever Ultrus Bog.  Skinner created this dude and I've wanted one forever, but the timing has always been off for me to actually get one.  Now he is resting securely in my display case and freaking out the cats, who I'm pretty sure think he is some sort of mutated insect coming to take revenge for the amount of bugs they have consumed in their lives.  Or they just can't believe that this is how we are spending their inheritance.

I was sooooooo tempted to get one of these Shub Zeroths from Metacrypt.  It really is the only thing I regret not picking up while I was there, but I was trying to behave myself as far as my spending went and unfortunately he didn't make the budget.  But this figure is gorgeous in person, especially with this paint job.

Rotten Rexx was a literal big hit.  This is one gigantic chunk of mean looking plastic.  They had these crazy marble-swirled versions but they sold out before I got there.  This unpainted guy though was pretty sick and at only $125 you won't find a bigger figure for that low of a price.  You can preorder one now directly from Lulubell.

And I bought my first ever piece from Velocitron!!!  This pocket idol was only $3 and was my favorite unplanned purchase by far.  I just fell in love with this little dude, and he was a great lunch companion.

We took a lot more pictures and posted them up on our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/TheToyViking so you should look at them and stuff.

Lulubell Toy Bodega x Mike Egan NYCC Exclusives

Lulubell Toy Bodega always brings the craziest stuff to New York Comic Con.  Their wares will blow your mind right out of the back of your skull and into the always long line for the ATM.  While your brain waits to make a withdrawal the rest of your body could be snagging one of these two exclusives from Mike Egan.  There will be 25 of those unpainted red Bones figures and 25 of those Red Lucky Devils and both will be $60 each.  No special release time has been announced, but you could always run straight to booth #408 and harass Amy until she tells you.  Actually she's really nice so you shouldn't harass her, you should just ask politely and not be weird about it.

Rotten Rexx Custom Contest from Lulubell Toy Bodega

You know how annoying hipsters are?  They always have to be into things that are outdated, like when you see them in public using a typewriter instead of a laptop.  Well, how many of those fancy jerks have dinosaur taxidermy?  Now you can beat them at their own game with Rotten Rex!  "Oh, that's a nice deer head you have on your wall I guess, if you're into contemporary animals.  I only collect animals that have been extinct for a butt ton of years."  Out hipster that, hipster!

Rotten Rexx was created by James Groman who you all know even if you don't know you know.  He does some crazy work that's been featured in his work with Hasbro, Star Wars, Godzilla, and much much more.  You can get this head and paper plaque that is perfect for mounting above your fire place right now from Lulubell Toy Bodega.  They're also running a customization contest, where now through October 1st you can upload your painted Rexx head to Instagram and have the chance to turn your vision into an actual production version of this toy.  Pretty neat.  A full version of Rotten Rexx complete with a body will be available at this year's New York Comic Con.

Medicom Exclusive Devilman Ultrus Bog from Skinner x Lulubell Toy Bodega

Oh snap son, your life is about to level up to 1000 or something.  I showed you this sucker way back in the day, like a few months ago, and you were all sad cause you don't live in Japan and it would cost you all the monies to get this guy from there to your house.  Well, get ready for this to be a great day for you (unless your day already sucks butt, then hopefully this will ease some of that pain) cause Lulubell Toy Bodega is making this guy available at a great price.  For a mere $90, you could be the proud owner of this Medicom exclusive Devilman Ultrus Bog by Skinner.  $90!!!!!!!!!!!!  When's the last time you saw an Ultrus Bog for $90?  Probably in the 1950's, when you saved up all your Bazooka Joe comics like a good little boy and mailed them away for one.  Your jaw still hurts from chewing all that gum.

You have until September 28th to pull the trigger on this guy.  After that you will be sad and unattractive to anyone.

New Minions from Skinner x Paul Kaiju x Lulubell Toy Bodega

When I am sleeping and my cat Icarus decides he wants attention, he will sit on my nightstand and poke me in the arm.  Evidently this was not effective the other night, because I woke up in a panic after he put his entire paw in my mouth.  He was seriously elbow deep and it startled the crap out of me.  It was four in the morning and since I wasn't going to be sleeping again any time soon I got up to use the bathroom.  Everything in that department is going fine, that is until I look in the bathtub.  For those of you that don't know, Icarus has a habit of eating just about anything, especially if it's gross.  There, in the bathtub, was clear evidence that he had been fishing in the drain.

 With his paws.

That were just in my mouth.

I've only had my mouth washed out with soap once, and that was after I cursed at my mom when I was five.  And she had the decency to not use liquid soap.  But it's what I had, so I made do.  I leaned my head back and pumped it straight in like I was a college kid downing a can of spray cheese.  It took some time to wash it all back out, but I felt it was worth it to prevent my death from whatever evil had been brewing in that tub drain.

I'm sure I missed a few germs, and I picture them to look kinda like these guys, throwing a rager in my belly that would make Andrew WK blush.  These guys were made by Skinner and Paul Kaiju and are available exclusively from Lulubell Toy Bodega.  For $55 you get em both, which is a deal because I have to buy more soap.  Pick em up tomorrow, August 30th at 11am Pacific time from http://www.lulubelltoys.com/.

The Black Five Alavaka from Devil's Head Productions x Lulubell Toy Bodega

This is now my new favorite colorway of this figure.  Devil's Head Productions and Lulubell Toy Bodega will be releasing these 5 exclusive Avalaka figures tomorrow August 10th, at 3:33pm Pacific time.  Two of em come with a nifty head band and a face covered in blood, or as I like to call it, my Friday dress code.  Seriously, it's how I look when I go to work.  People are all like "Hey, why do you have blood all over your face" and I'm all like "Don't worry, it's not mine".  They still worry though.

Mike Egan SDCC Exclusives Available Now at Lulubell Toy Bodega

Mike Egan is my favorite artist who used to be an embalmer.  Come to think of it, I don't know anyone who used to prepare corpses and make neo-folk art.  But that still makes him my favorite.  The man has experienced death in ways most of us never will and I think that gives his paintings a unique truth to them, as they were crafted by hands that have transformed people's loved ones into the last physical image they will ever see of them.  It's eerie and it's poetic in the same breath.

Another one of his characters entered the 3D realm this past San Diego Comic Con and now Lulubell Toy Bodega has the few remaining pieces for those of us that were unable to be there in person.  Lucky is available in both black and orange and makes a nice companion piece to his previously released Bones figure.  They also have a few copies of his Death Goes Pop book in which he painted portraits of some of pop cultures most recognizable characters.  Each on also come with a hand embellished and signed print.

Check out more of his work at http://www.eganpaintings.com/.

My Top 10 Things I Want from SDCC

It seems the popular thing to do on blogs is to create lists.  Fearing criminal prosecution from most of the lists I would like to post, I instead decided to make a list of 10 things I would like to own from San Diego Comic Con.  These are in no particular order.

Anytime someone around me is complaining of any physical ailment I always tell them that their symptoms are consistent with that of a tapeworm living in their gut.  Thus far, I have only been successful at getting one person to actually go to the doctor with this concern, but I keep trying.

Ferg x Grody Shogun made this Young Gohst with a major parasitic issue for Lulubell Toy Bodega's booth #5045.  Get one on Saturday for $45.

Ferg also made this big ol suicidal cat for Rotofugi's booth #5248 starting tonight for $120.

I pretty much want everything Frank Kozik makes, but I narrowed it down to two things I really really really want.  First up is the hand painted Mr. Monsanto.  This releases tomorrow at 2pm at his booth #5051 for $100.

The second thing is this Mishka collaboration Labbit from Kidrobot.  I haven't even seen what it looks like but I know it's a must have.  These will be $99.99 at booth # 4995 on Saturday at noon.

It all of a sudden got real cute in here.  Balance is the key to life my friends, so I've gotta balance out the blood and guts with some sugar and spice.  Brandi Milne's Sugar Lamb, Go! fits the bill.  For $90 you can get this at 3DRetro's booth #5051.

Also from 3DRetro comes this little ice cream dude from Gary Baseman.  He's only $55, which I think is a deal.

Retro Outlaw has given the galaxy's greatest bounty hunter a new mission:  jump over Snake Canyon on your motorcycle, while on fire, while watching Breaking Bad on Netflix.  Piece of cake, dummies.  Visit booth #929, give 'em $120, and live forever in glory!

Classic He-Man figures with Charles Manson heads and custom paint jobs from Skinner? Yeah, I'll take one of those.  DKE will be selling 50 of these, each one unique, for $150.  Get one Friday at 11am.

Speaking of Skinner, look at these guys.  He designed the one on the left while Paul Kaiju designed the one on the right and sculpted them booth.  Get the set for $55 from Lulubell Toy Bodega booth #5045 on Friday.

Last, but certainly not least, is this 8 inch Dunny from Jon-Paul Kaiser x Kidrobot.  Again, who knows what it looks like, but who cares!  It's not gonna suck.  Get one Friday at noon from booth #4945.

Well there you have it.  I'm sure I forgot some stuff.  As always, presents are always appreciated and tax deductible.***

***Probably not though

SDCC Exclusives from Restore x Lulubell Toy Bodega

I would not wrestle with this dude.  He would most likely cheat by bitting your nose off.  He looks like a guy that drinks too much and wants to wrestle everyone at the bar in some odd display of his manliness.  We all know that guy.

Restore will be dropping three new Debris Japan figures at Lulubell Toy Bodega's booth #5045 next week during San Diego Comic Con and online via Pop Soda.  The glow in the dark with black "clothes" and the green with red ones will be $60, while the one you see at the bottom that is fully painted will be $100.  Here's their release days and times:

Green with red: $60 usd - preview night release
GID Glow with Black: $60 usd - Friday, 5pm
Full painted "Profuse" Versions: $100usd - Sunday, 5pm

Metacrypt at San Diego Comic Con

I had a dream last night that was oddly appropriate for this toy.  I was sitting in a classroom and this weird baby all of a sudden in standing next to my desk.  Of course this freaks me the hell out so I stand up and am all like "hey, what's with this weirdo baby appearing out of nowhere and being generally creepy.  Oh, and the class was in a huge church.  That's important.  So the baby freaks out cause I'm freaked out and runs outside.  Naturally we all follow it to see what's up and for some reason there is a large moat going around the church.  The baby is sitting next to the water and chanting about the coming of the antichrist and what not, so I did the sensible thing and I kicked that evil baby into the water.  Where it then turned into a huge sea monster.  Quickly we made or retreat back into the church and barred the doors.  Fearing it would break through we all ran upstairs to determine what to do next.  On the floor there was this little monster dude talking all that jive about Satan and whatnot, so I picked him up and flushed him down a toilet.  Then the antichrist actually showed up and took my wife away to be his bride.  I was kinda chuffed about this turn of events, so I covered myself in holy water, grabbed an acoustic guitar, and started singing a song that used very colorful language to question his manhood.  And then I woke up.  After telling Sharon about this dream she is still mad at me that I woke up before I had the chance to stop her from becoming a demon's bride.  Like, literally not speaking to me mad.  This is probably going to cost me at minimum a trip to the shoe store.

Oddly enough it turns out the antichrist looks much more like a young Billy Dee Williams than this goat headed fellow.  But maybe this is what he looks like when he's not at work and he's just watching court shows on daytime tv.  Shub Zeroth has finally evolved from just a head into a full fledged demon critter type thing with his own body.  Metacrypt will be debuting him at San Diego Comic Con with Lulubell Toy Bodega at their booth #5045 during an event on Thursday.  The black paint rubbed one will be $100,  while the green unpainted version will be $80.  Any leftovers will then be available at Brian Ewing's booth #4503 for the rest of the convention.

But maybe you're not ready to make such a huge commitment to a full-bodied demon and would like to gradually introduce the dark world into your home.  Never fear, there are levels of the black arts to suit every need.  Start your journey with just the head of ol' Shub.  They come in red and grey and will be $25.

Once you've become fully engrossed by Metacrypt and want to spread the word you're gonna need this shirt to do it.  Craig Robson of Daggers for Teeth designed it and it's only $20.  That's better than what you'll get at the mall, and every dumb kid you see won't be wearing the same one making you feel old and silly.  Not that that's ever happened to me.

Get all this stuff by visiting Mr. Brian Ewing at booth #4503.

Grody Shogun Custom Painted Young Gohst Figure from Lulubell Toy Bodega

Ferg x Grody Shogun's Young Gohst figures are pretty cool as they are.  But now you can own one that was hand painted by Grody himself, and it still costs less than a tank of gas.  That's original art son, for $35!!!!  These suckers weren't painted by robots on an assembly line, or some random dude in a huge factory.  These were made with love.  And you can get one from Lulubell Toy Bodega starting Thursday at 1pm Pacific time.  Plus they come with a random color removable brain so you can practice for your amateur neurology club presentation on the emotional lives of lobotomy patients.  I hear it's going to be a humdinger.

Devilman Ultrus Bog from Skinner x Lulubell Toy Bodega x Medicom

The forces of evil are determined to make me go broke.  I've been goo at behaving myself financially, but I think this may be the toy that reels me back in to spending first and feeling bad about it later.  Oh, temptation, you are a cruel mistress.

My love for Skinner's Ultrus Bog knows no bounds.  It's one of my favorite figures of all time and the fact that this sucker is painted up in tribute to Devilman makes him all the more special.  Lulubell Toy Bodega was responsible for the production of this guy, but he will be sold exclusively at Project 1/6 in Japan and on www.medicomtoy.co.jp beginning July 24th.  If you want one, or want to buy me one, use this link to get all the details:

Unpainted Dream Rocket Toys from Lulubell Toy Bodega

I'm detecting a theme developing here today.  It's all unpainted toys!  Paint 'em yourself, send 'em to someone else to paint, or leave them as they are because you're undecided.  Personally, I think all toys look better painted, especially with the amount of detail in these figures from Dream Rocket.  I mean, at least spatter some red on them so they look like they've been on a rampage of unspeakable horror.  Lulubell Toy Bodega is offering these suckers up as preorders but you should hurry, cause the cobra dude already sold out (which is why there's no picture of him, cause I don't want to tease you like that).
