More SDCC Exclusives from Mike Egan x DKE

I was wondering how long it would take for Mike Egan to release a follow up to his incredibly popular Bones toy.  And here is my answer.  He has once again teamed up with DKE to produce a killer figure, this time it's that bearded devil Lucky.  You can get him in either orange or black, but I say:

I already told you about his Death Goes Pop book that will be available at the con, but did you know you can buy all of the original art from it?  And for only $75!!!!!!!  He's taken some of the most iconic characters in entertainment and given them his classic folk art twist.  This is the best deal you will find the entire time you are there.  You probably can't even get a hot dog for $75.

More SDCC Releases from 3DRetro

I think I'm gonna have a nervous breakdown if Comic Con isn't over soon.  I literally can't keep up with all the cool stuff coming out.  I also am not sleeping much while trying to plan my future in crime to be able to afford all of this on the secondary market.

Frank Kozik and 3DRetro are sharing a booth, so it's convenient that they should have an exclusive together.  Only 50 of his Clockwork Carrot figure got the glow in the dark treatment and $140 in American currency will get you one.  You bring pesos, you get laughed at.

You can begin your own Octopup breeding business with this four pack from Nathan Hamill.  Ok, you can't really breed them because they're plastic, but that warped little mind of yours will probably try anyway.  A mere $40 will get you all of them in this exclusive set.

This guy will come in handy when you're crying yourself to sleep on the plane because you realize all your stuff got repossessed while you were away.  Scott Tolleson and Luke Chueh combined forces to make you your new favorite snuggle buddy.  Go on, tell him all your feelings.  After you cough up the $40 though, cause nobody is gonna buy it after you cry all over him.

Find these and many more at booth #5051.

Even More SDCC Exclusives from DKE

Skinner just won Comic Con.  He took classic He-Man figures, replaced their heads with that of Charles Manson, and painted em up all nice and pretty.  Every idea that everyone else has ever had is officially dumb by comparison.  And they're only $150?  You can't even get him to think about painting something for you for $150, let alone get a complete, carded figure.  He's a busy man, and time is money.  I wonder what he did with all the heads he cut off?

eeeeeek!

Didn't I just do a whole post yesterday about The Sucklord and his DKE exclusives?  Well, they snuck another one in there while I was napping.  Jason Freeny cut this sucker up to see how he ticks and rather than bury him again he's gonna sell him to you!  Everybody needs to know how autopsies work so they can better dispatch of their enemies without getting caught, and what could possibly be a more fun way to learn?

Jabba the Hut and those shut ins you see on tv really aren't that different.  Jabba just had money so he could hire a bunch of fools to do all the stuff he needed, like get him Chinese food and wash his back.  Alex Pardee has effectively captured the likeness of the galaxy's greatest invalid in this Bunnywith figure.  Now bring him some chicken and put his stories on.

SDCC Exclusives from Restore x Lulubell Toy Bodega

I would not wrestle with this dude.  He would most likely cheat by bitting your nose off.  He looks like a guy that drinks too much and wants to wrestle everyone at the bar in some odd display of his manliness.  We all know that guy.

Restore will be dropping three new Debris Japan figures at Lulubell Toy Bodega's booth #5045 next week during San Diego Comic Con and online via Pop Soda.  The glow in the dark with black "clothes" and the green with red ones will be $60, while the one you see at the bottom that is fully painted will be $100.  Here's their release days and times:

Green with red: $60 usd - preview night release
GID Glow with Black: $60 usd - Friday, 5pm
Full painted "Profuse" Versions: $100usd - Sunday, 5pm

SDCC Release and Signing Schedule from Kidrobot

Well, looks like my work here is pretty much done.  Kidrobot has just released this handy guide to their releases and signings at next week's San Diego Comic Con.  I saw the mock ups for the Marvel Labbits at Toy Fair and they look pretty killer.  They are definitely the coolest licensed items Kidrobot has released thus far.  There are, however, two releases that I really, really, really, really want.  The first one being the Locondonta 8" Dunny from Jon-Paul Kaiser.  This one is supposed to be different from the smaller version that just came out in the 2013 series but no matter what it's going to be on my wish list until I can track one down.  The second is the Keep Watch Labbit from Frank Kozik x Mishka.  Even without seeing it you know it has to be amazing.  The last two artist series Labbits that were convention exclusives were made into retail releases using different colors, so I'm hoping something similar happens with this one.  Ditto on the Dunny.

SDCC Exclusives from The Sucklord x DKE

What would any comic con be without The Sucklord peddling his pink wares like snake oil?  Well, it would be less interesting, and the only people yelling at you would probably be security cause you couldn't wait in line anymore for the bathrooms and just peed in the corner.

The Sucklord will have a few new releases with the fine folks at DKE at San Diego Comic Con, and two of them will feature duos who we always suspected had much more going on than the working relationship they swore to.  Bert and Ernie and Batman and Robin get the Gay Empire treatment for these two releases.  We always suspected it and finally we got a little bit of honesty from them.

But this, this is worth standing in line for hours to obtain despite the smell of those fellow nerds around you who put more effort into their costumes than hygiene.  Scott Wilkowski made a cool skeleton and then put it inside this resin trooper.  How does he do it?  Who care, just worry about how great it will look hanging on your wall.

Metacrypt at San Diego Comic Con

I had a dream last night that was oddly appropriate for this toy.  I was sitting in a classroom and this weird baby all of a sudden in standing next to my desk.  Of course this freaks me the hell out so I stand up and am all like "hey, what's with this weirdo baby appearing out of nowhere and being generally creepy.  Oh, and the class was in a huge church.  That's important.  So the baby freaks out cause I'm freaked out and runs outside.  Naturally we all follow it to see what's up and for some reason there is a large moat going around the church.  The baby is sitting next to the water and chanting about the coming of the antichrist and what not, so I did the sensible thing and I kicked that evil baby into the water.  Where it then turned into a huge sea monster.  Quickly we made or retreat back into the church and barred the doors.  Fearing it would break through we all ran upstairs to determine what to do next.  On the floor there was this little monster dude talking all that jive about Satan and whatnot, so I picked him up and flushed him down a toilet.  Then the antichrist actually showed up and took my wife away to be his bride.  I was kinda chuffed about this turn of events, so I covered myself in holy water, grabbed an acoustic guitar, and started singing a song that used very colorful language to question his manhood.  And then I woke up.  After telling Sharon about this dream she is still mad at me that I woke up before I had the chance to stop her from becoming a demon's bride.  Like, literally not speaking to me mad.  This is probably going to cost me at minimum a trip to the shoe store.

Oddly enough it turns out the antichrist looks much more like a young Billy Dee Williams than this goat headed fellow.  But maybe this is what he looks like when he's not at work and he's just watching court shows on daytime tv.  Shub Zeroth has finally evolved from just a head into a full fledged demon critter type thing with his own body.  Metacrypt will be debuting him at San Diego Comic Con with Lulubell Toy Bodega at their booth #5045 during an event on Thursday.  The black paint rubbed one will be $100,  while the green unpainted version will be $80.  Any leftovers will then be available at Brian Ewing's booth #4503 for the rest of the convention.

But maybe you're not ready to make such a huge commitment to a full-bodied demon and would like to gradually introduce the dark world into your home.  Never fear, there are levels of the black arts to suit every need.  Start your journey with just the head of ol' Shub.  They come in red and grey and will be $25.

Once you've become fully engrossed by Metacrypt and want to spread the word you're gonna need this shirt to do it.  Craig Robson of Daggers for Teeth designed it and it's only $20.  That's better than what you'll get at the mall, and every dumb kid you see won't be wearing the same one making you feel old and silly.  Not that that's ever happened to me.

Get all this stuff by visiting Mr. Brian Ewing at booth #4503.

More SDCC Exclusives from Super7

I think just about every post I've done recently has had the word "more" in the title.  That's because all of these toy companies stagger their comic con release announcements to build up hype and drive people like me insane.  I wanna see it all now!!!!!

These are the final 2 exclusives from Super7 for San Diego Comic Con, and neither one of them suck.  I really like this new Monoghost figure.  The color scheme is cool and the graphics really work well set against clear vinyl.  And it stands over 9 inches tall, so that's a lot of figure for $65.

These guys are my favorite of all their releases.  I love the Pocket Rose Vampire and Mummy Boy figures and these dudes are even smaller.  They're like, nostril size.  You get one of each figure for $20 cast in one of the two colors you see.  Just don't actually stick them in your nose or you may have to take what would be one of the dumbest trips to the emergency room ever.

Speaking of pocket-sized figures, here are three for you.  The ever popular Rose Vampire and two Baseball Boys done up in San Diego Padres colors.  Each of these will be $25 and I personally would go for the Rose Vampire without question.

Here's a recap of every vinyl toy that they'll have for you.  Time to look into that second mortgage.

More SDCC Exclusives from The Loyal Subjects

Optimus Prime obviously couldn't take how terrible the new Transformer movies were and decided to off himself.  Can't say I blame him, as I almost did so in a crowded theater while watching the first one.

The Loyal Subjects have released a pretty cool blind box series of Transformers earlier in the year and now they're jumping into the 8 inch realm for San Diego Comic Con.  300 of these Dead Prime figures were made and they will retail for $115 when they are released July 19th from 1-2pm.  This is gonna be another one of those instances where you're gonna wanna line up pretty early if you hope to score one.

Continuing the theme of dead toys, they will also be releasing this Astro Zombie Bunny from Joe Ledbetter. Unlike owning a real dead bunny, your house won't smell weird and your friends won't try and have a mental health intervention with you.  Everyone will get a shot at one of these suckers, as 150 will be available at the convention, and 150 will be available online.  Which is how it should be done really.  Do you know how angry it makes me to see this stuff that will only be for sale 3,000 miles away and I'll never have the chance to buy it unless it's for some ridiculous price from some butt face that bought it just to sell it?  Pretty angry.

More SDCC Exclusives from DKE

I read an interview with DKE owner Dov that was conducted by Tenacious Toys that basically said you better bring some cool stuff with you that no one else has if you're going to bother setting up at conventions.  Of course, there was more to it than that, but you can clearly see the philosophy put to work in not only the amount, but the quality of exclusives that he is bringing to San Diego Comic Con.

Like this gloriously massive toy from Kronk x Pobber appropriately named "Bad Ass".  That is one angry monkey and you can believe that this sucker is going to sell out the moment it's released.  Only 40 pieces were produced in this Forest colorway and they will be $95 each.  Better get in line early.

And now for something completely different.  When you think about it, most of us aren't playing with the toys that we buy; we are using them as objects of decoration to make our dwelling more pleasing.  So with that thinking, the materials that toys or collectibles are made of are irrelevant.  Why not ceramics?  Even better, why not awesome mash up ceramic figures from Robin Van Valkenburgh?  I had never heard of this particular artist before now, but after seeing this picture and then looking through their Twitter posts, I am hooked.  Equal parts sweet and disturbing, I must now own every single one.  These could very easily be the sleeper hit of the convention.

There's absolutely nothing sweet about these two.  In fact, they look as if they've crawled from an infected wound and are off to terrorize children at summer camp. I'm pretty sure Fuei Shokai would be thrilled if no one were ever to sleep again after looking at their creations.  If one bites you don't say you weren't warned.

Super7 Releases for SDCC...Take 2

Ok, this is my second post about releases from Super7 for San Diego Comic Con.  I'm already planning a third, so in the spirit of trying to be informative I'm gonna have cut my sass level down a bit in order to get you the pertinent info. In fact, just look at the pictures, begin drooling, and phone that long lost cousin of yours that's obsessed with Dungeons and Dragons who has been to every Comic Con since '89. It will be worth him boring you to death with tales of his level 50 troll killer if he can score you a few of these.

Mimobot Exclusives for SDCC

I'm bad at organization. Terrible even. I bought a filing cabinet, got a ton of folders, and still nothing is organized. Most likely because the folders are in a pile in the corner and the filing cabinet's drawers are full of papers I've just thrown in there haphazardly. Well, papers and random stuff I find my cat Icarus trying to eat. I'll be typing away at the computer when I hear a wet, chewing noise, and then I have to tackle him to remove whatever he was trying to injest. My filing system has gone to hell.

If I could only fully embrace the digital world, then I would have a sure fire solution to my predicament with these Mimobots. And like everyone else, they have some exclusive ones available at San Diego Comic Con. Being a big Star Wars fan, the Chewbacca one is my obvious favorite, but they have a bunch of others available too. Check out what they've revealed so far and buy yours at www.mimoco.com or at booth #2913M in The Star Wars Pavillion.

Ghost Pirate Chaos Bunny from Joe Ledbetter x The Loyal Subjects

You know what sucks about San Diego Comic Con?  Not being able to go to San Diego Comic Con.  But who wants to listen to me whine all day?  Certainly not my wife, and she's legally obligated to.

So I love when companies split up the amount of a release to give us geographically or financially challenged folks a shot at scoring a toy.  The Loyal Subjects are doing just that with this Ghost Pirate Chaos Bunny from Joe Ledbetter.  It's still not a viking, but a ghost pirate is pretty cool.  150 of these will be released at the convention July 18th from 1-2pm while another 150 will be release online at www.theloyalsubjects.com the same day at 2pm.

More SDCC Exclusives from Funko

My last meme was such a hit I've decided to make one for every post I do about Funko's San Diego Comic Con exclusives.  I'm gonna be a busy man.

The Big Bang Theory is a show I thoroughly enjoy.  Not only is it hilarious, but they have managed to employ most of the former Roseanne cast.  It would blow my mind if they could get both actresses that played Becky into the same episode.

These super nerds are in the middle of being beamed to some strange planet.  I would love to have one of those machines.  I don't think I would use it for myself though, I probably would just throw people's car keys in it and laugh maniacally.  No one's ever accused me of being responsible with science fition technology.

Don't worry, the ladies are represented too, as Ms. Farrah Fowler will be available in an alternate outfit.

Hey it's the little dude from the Progressive Insurance commercial.  Oh, and they're in Despicable Me 2, which I haven't seen yet cause it's not on Netflix.  But when it is I'll probably watch it cause these guys are funny.  They're all shiny from their metallic paint treatment.  That Evil Minion looks liek he would make a great dental add, maybe he could be tooth decay come to life.

This little dude glows in the dark!  You could buy a ton of them and light a path to the bathroom at night!

Get these and many, many, many more at Funko's booth #5343.
